1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Scope of this Document
This document describes the ACAMS control tower installation to be implemented at the São
Paulo - Guarulhos International Airport - SBGR.
Specifically, this manual details the ACAMS Integrated Tower System equipment layout, power
distribution and wiring, network connectivity, fiber-optic infrastructure, external systems
integration, control/automation circuits and network adapters Inputs/Outputs.
Throughout this document, elements noted as ‘Provision’ are included for document
standardization and ‘place-holding’ purposes. This is also applicable to elements included in
anticipation of systems and equipments, not currently installed, that could be added or integrated
in the future.
This standard installation manual will be updated in order to incorporate changes needed to meet
local requirements and an as-installed version will be issued accordingly.
1.2 Purpose of this Document
This manual is provided as technical reference to qualified technicians involved in installing,

operating, servicing and maintaining the ACAMS Integrated Tower System and other
interconnected equipment.
As described, this document contains exclusively equipment layouts, cabling information and
wiring schematics of the control tower installation. Therefore, for specific hardware specifications
and configuration, refer to the ‘Technical manual’ and for software functionalities and system
operation, refer to the ‘Operator Manual’.
1.3 Warnings
WARNING: Electrical Hazard
Some system components function with life-threatening voltages and may

present a risk of electrical shock. Work on electrical components shall be handled
by qualified personnel only.

4 CABLING STANDARDS
4.1 Cable Numbering System
The ACAMS System cables are identified, according to the following numbering plan, with a 3 or
4 digit number and an ‘OF’ prefix is added specifically for fiber-optic cables/cords. Functionally
related cables can be identified with the same number and with a letter or number suffix.
