My favorite time of the year

It is the most magical time of the year, and also my favorite time of the year. The winter holidays
are the time between New year’s eve and Christmas as well. I love this time because of the joy the lights
the music and the time spend with my family. Also, I love the presents and the food that are connected
with this time of the year.

But this year they don't feel as much fun. That is mostly because Skopje isn’t decorated this year
and is very grey and depressing. When I was a little boy my parents always took my brother and me to
the center of the city we took pictures of the Christmas tree and we ate chestnuts and enjoyed the
music that was always part of the celebration in the City. And this year it's harder to get in the holiday
spirit since nothing looks the same there is no holiday atmosphere in the city. But spending time with
my family never fails to get me in the spirit, decorating our homes, making cookies with my
grandmother, watching Christmas movies with my mother, and listening to Christmas music with my
father, as well playing with my siblings, are things that help me to get in the holiday spirit.

What I have learned in this years is even if the city is grey there are no Christmas lights in the
streets, or there are things changing in our lives. The family traditions change and you have, two homes,
two Christmas trees, and two Christmas dinners, if you are able to spend time with people you love and
do the things that you enjoy, that is what makes the holidays special. So I’m looking forward to the
holidays, the food , the presents and the celebrations.
