Streamlight's TLR-6 series has long been a
popular choice for those seeking a compact
weapon-mounted light (WML) for their
subcompact carry pistols. The TLR-6 HL (High
Lumen) builds upon this legacy, offering a
significant upgrade in illumination power, laser
and introducing a rechargeable battery system.
There is much to be excited about in
Streamlight’s newest TLR offering.

The TLR-6 HL arrives in a package that includes

the light itself, a two-bay charging case, a USB-C
charging cable, three Streamlight SL-B2
rechargeable batteries, and a handy user
manual. The inclusion of three batteries is a nice
touch offering a total of one hour of light/laser
use – a significant advantage over models
requiring constant battery purchases.
The TLR-6 HL retains the ultra-compact design of
its predecessors, making it ideal for subcompact
handguns without adding excessive bulk. The
contoured housing ensures a secure attachment
to the weapon's rail and trigger guard, and the
ambidextrous push-button switches on either

side allow for easy activation regardless of hand
dominance. A welcomed enhancement is the
ability to replace the rechargeable battery
without removing the light from the firearm,
eliminating the need for re-sighting the laser
after each change.
The most significant upgrade in the TLR-6 HL is
its light output. Compared to the previous TLR-6,
the HL variant boasts a whopping 300 lumens, a
considerable jump that significantly enhances
situational awareness. This extra light provides
improved target identification and scene
illumination, particularly beneficial in low-light
environments or during nighttime encounters.

The TLR-6 HL features an output of 300 lumens,
which is a significant upgrade over the TLR-6’s
100 lumens. Its parabolic reflector produces a
well collimated beam with a tight hot spot and
an abundance of peripheral light, translating to
better illumination of targets at night or in low-
light conditions. The beam distance is also
impressive at 130 meters, which is more than
enough for most self-defense situations.
Streamlight advertises a runtime of 20 minutes
for both LED only and LED/laser modes when
using a single battery. This provides ample
illumination for most defensive situations.
However, the real advantage comes with the
included extra batteries. With three batteries at
your disposal, the TLR-6 HL offers a total of one
hour of runtime, ensuring you have enough light
for extended encounters.
In addition to its higher light output and
rechargeable power source, the TLR-6 HL also
features an aiming laser. Streamlight offers red
and green laser models.
The integrated laser provides a valuable aiming
tool in low-light conditions or when using the
pistol sights is not possible. The TLR-6 HL laser
produced a clear aiming point, aiding target
acquisition and engagement. The red laser only
mode offers an extended runtime of 9 hours.
The TLR-6 HL is a very compact and lightweight
weapon light, making it an excellent choice for
compact and subcompact handguns. It measures
only 2.5 inches (6.35 centimeters) in length and
weighs only 1.12 ounces (31.75 grams). This
makes it easy to carry without adding significant
bulk or weight to your handgun.
The TLR-6 HL is also easy to use, activation is
simple via an ambidextrous switch that can be
