THIS YEAR, we are honored to host MASTERCLASSES with two of Scandinavia’s most prominent directors. For example, Tarik Saleh, Matilda Arborelius
Swedish director and screenwriter of »The Nile Hilton Incident« (2018) and »Boy from Heaven« (2022). He will be joining us for a Industry Assistant
masterclass and a panel discussion on Visions in Swedish Cinema along with critics, producers and other filmmakers. Another of
our honored guest is Swedish-Iranian director Ali Abbasi (»Border« (2018), »Holy Spider«, 2022) who will be sharing his insights Kristina Jovanovic

Institute, awarded one of the country’s biggest short film prizes
to a promising director, giving them the opportunity to make

ANETTE NOVAK IS the CEO of the Swedish Film Institute. She has had a
long and successful career within culture and media, working in
several leadership positions before taking on her new role at SFI
in April 2022.

TARIK SALEH IS an award-winning screenwriter, director and


producer. He is the co-founder of the production company Atmo,
and has a long list of successful films to his name. His most recent
film, »Boy From Heaven« (2022), is the Swedish nominee for Best
International Feature at the 2023 Academy Awards.

CHARLOTTA DENWARD IS the Head of Feature Films at SVT. She is the


co-founder of the production company Avanti Film, and has held
many important positions in the film industry for over twenty
years.

MATTIAS NOHRBORG IS the founder of and the Head of Acquisitions


at Triart. He is a producer at B-Reel Films and has produced a
number of films, including »I am Zlatan« (2021), »X&Y« (2018) and
»Gentlemen« (2014).

JULIA FINNSIÖ IS a film critic at Svenska Dagbladet, and a freelance


writer. She has a degree in Cinema Studies, and has published
many articles about film in both SvD and FLM.

HYNEK PALLAS IS a freelance culture journalist, with a PhD in Cinema


Studies. Pallak has been a film critic for several major Swedish
newspapers, currently writing for Göteborgs-Posten and
Expressen Kultur. He has worked as an editor for Bergmans Video
(SVT), as a director and written several books on cinema.
