Main Part
You describe the visual in detail and systematically.

You analyse/interpret the image by drawing conclusions


about what the visual is meant to convey and how it achieves
its effect. You might consider:
• the technique, colours
• the effect on the viewer
• who is addressed and why
• the artist’s/photographer’s message
Conclusion
You evaluate the image considering
• how effective the image is as a visual message,
• if the image illustrates a text, to what extent does the image
support, complement or contradict the text.
STRUCTURE

You use paragraphs to structure your text.

LANGUAGE

You use phrases from the “Useful Phrases” list in all parts of
your text.

You use additional linking phrases.

You stick to the present tense.

You make no spelling mistakes.

You use different sentence types like relative clauses and


conditionals.
