The fashion industry is a strong, active and rapidly growing sector where individuals are
given various opportunities. It is a creative and innovative field where techniques are used with
time. This industry includes many designers, stylists, fashion events, retailers who are
approached by people to collect information regarding the trend or the latest styles in the market.
It has gone with a remarkable growth and with the passage of time people have become more
aware about it which results in increased production of garments. From the streets of Paris to
Canada, New York, Milan and many other big nations. Fashion industry has taken over the world
and it has become a huge industry worldwide dealing business with brands and designers. It
allows a person to showcase their styles, talent and personality. Nowadays, almost every other
youngster is influenced by the fashion which shows their preferences, confidence, how a person
perceives themselves or being updated by the vogue. It increases a human’s self confidence.
Moreover, it has become a universal language as the industry has the power to remove the
difference and bond people belonging to different cultures which makes it a unique sector. It has
an impact on pupils who seek to make a career in this dynamic field. In this essay, I argue that
the skillful creation of the apparel industry draws its attention on fast fashion, diversity and skills
which shows to be a true bright and a rising sector offering various opportunities to the scholars.
Fast Fashion
The fashion industry offers various job opportunities to people because of increasing fast
fashion all around the world. Quick fashion trends are affected by the several elements such as
customer choices, affect of media, worldwide growing style and experimenting with designs.
According to Rizaldy and Supiansyah (2023), People are influenced by the new trends and

Urban Planet, H&M and Zara are known for their latest and quirky designs which attracts every
other teenager. Social media has made a huge impact. The craze for online shopping has also
increased its popularity. These days, everyone wants to style the apparels accordingly to keep up
with the fashion world. According to Singhal et.al (2023) “Both consumers and brands build a
strong relation through social media as the exporters follow worldwide going trends through
media and present them in the stores” (p.3). With the growing demand of fashionable clothes
designers try to create new stylish apparels by doing experiments. Social media has transformed
the industry. Digital platforms have a major role in it. According to Poorthuis et.al (2020)
Sometimes experimenting with the clothes is eye catching and it sets a new trend. Fast fashion
companies depend on the young talent to meet their demands with the targeted audience and
create affordable yet trending garments. It has led to the growing demand of stylist, designers
because this industry requires new talent who have the enough knowledge about the latest
fashion. This is why the clothing industry demands of more stylists and designers.
Diversity
Diversity involves people from different backgrounds which opens more job chances.
Various sectors like styling, networking, global perspective are associated with it. This promotes
the innovation by bringing together unique creation and type of patterns in the industry.
According to Atik et al. (2022), the exchange of design, style and heritage from different culture
promote cultural diversity. When two or more individuals from different culture collaborate and
work together in partnership, they bring a variety of new skills then new innovative ideas come
forward which promotes a persons self growth but also help the fashion houses and brands to
work in a multi cultural marketplace. This develops the understanding of the different cultures
and develops the understanding of various cultural backgrounds. According to Fung et.al (2020),

with the growth of the fashion industry professionals have the chance to work with international
fashion companies which helps them to understand the global perspective. In addition, by
working with people of different cultural background one can build strong connections and links
with the topmost designers, stylist and exporters of the world which opens the many new doors
of opportunities. Moreover, this helps to better understand the trends, customer needs, their
preferences and the market worldwide. It plays a major role in fashion events, shows and
exhibitions as it is also a part of the sector. These things not only show latest collections but by
attending such type of events can provide a global stage to showcase the talent and ideas in front
Skills
Fashion industry is closely related with some skills. It requires a strong understanding of
the industry to manage and lead things efficiently like gaining deep knowledge of preference,
styles, marketing strategies and the overall business understanding. According to Gregori &
Marcone (2020), the industry runs in a pace where one should have several skills because it
allows the professionals to show their creativity through creating designs in detail or
communicating their thoughts which also leads to personal growth. Firstly, communication
enables a designer to do the work with the supplier, manufactures and retailers to coney their
ideas and coordinate with them. Moreover, fashion stylists need to understands a person’s
personal choice and collect their feedback to create designs accordingly. Rudolph et. al (2023)
fashion merchandising includes the arrangement and advertising of products to build a business
and complete the maximum sale target. The sector is always experiencing a strong and rapid
specialization in specific field (Rudolph et.al, 2023, p.2). With the advancement in technology

and science a brand needs technical skills such as photography, editing, creating unique garment
designs through AI tools. It’s purpose is to show their products effectively as the fashion
photographers and editors works collectively with fashion houses to prepare the design for
magazines and advertising which later increases company’s sales. It not only provides
employment but an individual can learn a lot about the retail operations, marketing and will have
While this sector may seem as interesting, glamourous and can attract people but the fast
pace fashion industry is highly competitive with unpredictable fashion trends and culture barrier
is a big challenge. There is always a cut throat competition. Many young pupils have the dream
to get into the fashion industry but in real only few get the chance to work. According to Hugo
et. al (2021), it demands of high expensive education with specialization or the internships to get
experience. Moreover, the culture barrier is making the competition even more tough and
difficult for designers to survive in the market. The fashion industry is highly criticized because
of the barrier. It not only prevents the new talent in youngsters but also creates differenced
among other cultures. According to Ahmed et. al (2018), there is always a fear that western
outfits will take over the traditional clothes and local trends. In this ever-evolving industry
fashion is unpredictable. For example: what is fashionable and stylish at the moment may be
outdated the next day. One can see the change in trends everyday. So, there is always a pressure
and it is expected from an individual to create unique designs which promotes the culture but
also go with the latest trends. However, it offers numerous opportunities. The main advantage of
competitiveness is that a person is constantly motivated and drive to take risks, play and
experiment with different kind of clothing and think out of the box. Furthermore, the
6
unpredictable trends and the cultural difficulties can be seen as an opportunity for creativity.
Nowadays, fashion stylists and designers are always updated about the latest styles through
social media. One can see in fashion events designers create traditional wear with a western
Conclusion
In conclusion, creativity of the apparel industry focuses on the fast fashion, culture
diversity and skills required in the sector which appears as a rising and successful profession.
The industry provides plethora of career options. It allows to play with the clothing pattern, mix
match the colours or designs. It provides a life time opportunity to those who are innovative and
can create something with the power of imagination. However, a designer needs to be aware of
the existing and the latest trends in the market, their consumer preferences. Moreover, the skills
that are equally important such as the use of latest techniques in the market, enough knowledge
industry, creating designs digitally with the latest software, marketing skills and the business
understanding. In addition, communication is the key in the fashion world because one should
know how to deal with the customers. Also, communication is important to work collectively
with the brand operators, retailers and manufacturers. To master in this field, it required to have
these skills. It is significant for the higher institutions to introduce more fashion and business
courses. The high ends fashion should also provide a deep understanding of material and the
latest technologies or the AI used in the sector to create online designs so that upcoming future
designers have the appropriate understanding of the industry. If one has the passion to learn and
gain expertise in these skills then nobody can stop an individual to be successful as fashion
industry is a vast and rapidly developing field that provides various opportunities to people.
