You are kindly notified of the following:
1. Content Based Workshops
You are kindly notified that workshops that will mainly look into the content are being
prepared for teachers. Upon deliberations in an executive meeting, we found it fit to have a
residential workshop, similar to the one we had the previous year. This time around its going
to be of all teachers as opposed to taking a specific group. The dates for the Workshops would
be 29 April to 1 May. They will be residential in a school around Manzini/Matsapha. For
preparations, we need you to register as early as now. Registration Deadline shall be the
Monday the 1st of April 2024. A link for the registration form is shared below.
2. ICT Fairs
As stated in the recently completed workshops, we are going to conduct ICT Fairs this year.
They will run concurrently with our sister associations, Mathematics, Science and Design
and Technology. We will start regionally and the to the National Fairs. Categories for this
years’ Fairs will be as follows:
a) System Development
For this category, participants are going to submit the proposal in the regional fairs and then
the system will be submitted and judged in the National fairs.
b) Website Design
Here participants will present a proposal of the website they want to design during regional
fairs and then bring the designed website during the National Fairs.
c) PC Assembly and Networking
Students are competing in assembling a PC and networking it with another computer that
they also bring to the fairs.
d) Problem Solving
This is an on the day category. Participants come to the Fair and will be given a Practical
Paper to write.
e) Theory Paper
Here students are given a paper to write.
f) Research
This is a new category where students have a scenario or problem to solve. They do a
research on how to solve that scenario. They will do prentation slides and clarify how they
intend to solve the problem. They will clearly outline using Chapter 7 of the 0417 Syllabus
on how the solution will be done.
