Introduction
definition:

1.1 Problem

The purpose of the study is to do A Study on the Factors behind choosing dress: A case on Eastern University. We have gathered information by collecting primary data. No additional background information is needed. The researcher measured the factors considering purchasing cloth. Data was made available. And no hypothesis is formulated. 1.2 Basic

research design:

The respondents have given their answers by checking how strongly they agree or disagree with the statements. It is a descriptive research. The information is collected by asking questions to the eastern university male students. Objective answers could be obtained. The survey question was worded in easy way so that every respondent can understand it. 1.3 Selection

of sample:

The male students of eastern university are the source of the data. Sample is necessary to collect data. The sample size is 30. And the sample is randomly selected. 1.4 Data

gathering:

The data was gathered by the researcher. It took 2 days to collect data. The researcher had little observation to the respondents.

1.4.1 Data gathering method:


Primary method has been used. The information is gathered from the 30 male respondents from Eastern University.

1.4.2 Data gathering instrument:


A structured questionnaire of likert scale was used to collect the information.

1.4.3 Data analyzing method:


Data has been encoded by SPSS. And to analyze the data pie chart has been used. 1

2. Analyzing and finding:


2.1Analysis of the data:
1. While purchasing cloth you prefer fashion rather than comfort: To find out weather male students prefer fashion or comfort the statement was provided. Different respondents answered differently. The responses are shown below in table1 weather they prefer fashion or comfort. Table 1: Percentages of preference of fashion rather then comfort

From the table we can see that the highest percentage of male students agree upon the statement. 40% of student agreed that they prefer fashion rather then comfort. It means they want comfort but they need fashionable cloth at first.

2. In case of better quality price does not matter: The respondents were asked if they gets better quality product the price matters or not. The responses are given below in table 2. Table 2: percentage of price vs. better quality

Here we can see that the male students prefer quality rather than price as if they get better quality product they would buy it. But the price should match the quality. About 36% male students agree upon the statement. 3. Most of time you prefer branded cloth: Do the male students prefer branded cloth or not to know about this the above statement were asked to the respondents. The responses are given below in Table 3. Here we can see that 56.7% agreed upon the statement that during choosing cloth most of the time they prefer branded cloth. It shows that they are brand conscious.

4. During choosing branded cloth you prefer top branded cloth Weather the male students choose top branded cloth or not, the above statement was given. The responses are given in table 4. Table 4: percentages of preferences of top branded cloth

It is seen that 46.7% students agreed upon top branded cloth during purchase. Where as we can see 23.3% students both strongly agreed and were neutral upon this statement.

5. You prefer exported cloths: The respondents were asked weather they prefer exported cloth or not. The responses are given below in table 5. Table 5: Percentage of preferences of exported cloths

From the table we can see that 36.7% student were both neutral and agreed upon statement. It means that some prefer both exported and home countries cloth and same no of students prefer exported cloth more than home countries cloth

6. You prefer traditional cloths rather than western cloth: Now a days most of the time people were both traditional and western cloths. Here we can see 40% male students agree with it that they prefer traditional cloths rather than western cloths and 26.7% students were neutral that means they prefer both traditional and western cloths. 7. You are satisfied with the home country made cloth: The respondents were asked whether they are satisfied with home made country cloth or not. The responses are given below in table 7. Here we can see that male students are satisfied with home country made cloths. About 46.7% students agree upon the statement. 8. The most respondents were neutral in this case. It means they dont bother of colors. It doesnt matter what color it is. They like different colors.

It seems that 43.3% male students prefer formal cloth than any other cloth, as they agreed upon it. 10. During choosing cloth its versatility is important Whether the versatility is important or not to know this the above statement was been asked to the respondents. Most of the respondents were neutral in this case. They do not bother of versatility. About 40% students were neutral.

46.7% respondents agreed upon the statement that they prefer designers cloth. 26.7% respondents were neutral.

Here we can see that 63.3 % first of all prefer quality while they are purchasing. So It is clear that male students first look for quality when they are purchasing. 13. 40% respondent agreed upon it that they search for unique design when they choose their cloth. 14. The quality of cloths in our country is same as other international brands The respondents were asked that whether the quality of clothes in our country is same as the other international brands or not. It is seen that 40% respondent agreed upon the statement where as 20% were neutral.

2.2 Findings:
As we did a study on the factors behind choosing dress: A case on Eastern University we have come across the following findings 1. It is found that most of the students prefer fashion rather than comfort. 2. The students prefer quality over price. 3. Students most of the time prefer branded dress rather than local dress 4. Students prefer top branded dress. 5. Equal no. of students prefers only exported clothing and prefers both exported and homemade dresses. 6. Most of the students prefer traditional clothing 7. Most students agree upon the statement that explained that they are satisfied with the clothes that are made on the home country. 8. Most of the students are neutral about the statement which explained that color does not matter to them when it came to dressing up. 9. Among all most students prefer formal clothes. 10. Most of the students responded neutrally about versatility of dress up. 11. Students prefer designer clothes. 12. Students first prioritize on quality of their dresses. 13. Students said that they look for unique design. 14. Students agree with the statement that the quality of clothes made in Bangladesh is the same as any international brand. 9

3 Conclusion
Less than half the respondents prefer fashion rather than comfort. Almost one third of the respondents prefer quality over price. More than half the respondents prefer branded dress, Less than half respondents prefer top branded dress. Almost one third of the students prefer exported clothing whereas another one third is neutral about when preferring neutral clothing. Less than half the respondents prefer traditional clothing and almost one fourth respondents are neutral about buying traditional clothes. Less than half the respondents prefer dresses that are made domestically. Most of the students are neutral about their opinion about color preferences that it does not matter. Less than half the students prefer formal dress. Less than half the students are neutral about the versatility of their dress up. Less than half the respondents prefer designer clothing. More than half the respondents prioritize on the quality of the dress above anything. Less than half the students look for unique design while choosing dress. Less than half the students agreed with the statement that said the quality of the clothes made in this country is as same as any international brand.
