Memorias de un Estudiante de Manila

BSME 3B Student Journal #6

● Reflect on why Rizal highlighted the story of the moth in the last chapter of his
Memorias. What was the message intended by Rizal through this story? Is the
moral of the story still applicable for today’s generation? What does the light
symbolize?

- The moral of the story tells us to always listen to our parents because, believe it or
not, they always know best. And our parents genuinely want their children to be
secure and risk-free. The story still applies to our generation today since our parents
constantly advise us on our decisions and correct us in everything we do. The light
represents our aspirations and goals in life.
