OPERATOR IS THE BEST OPERATOR- MOST ACCIDENTS CAN BE AVOIDED BY OBSERVING CERTAIN
PRECAUTIONS. READ AND TAKE THE FOLUlWING PRECAUTIONS BEFORE OPERATING THIS TRACTOR

AND ROTARY BROOM TO HELP PREVENT ACCIDENTS. EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE OPERATED ONLY BY
THOSE WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE AND INSTRUCTED TO DO SO-

TRAINING

1 1 . Read t h e O p e r a t o r ' s Manual c a r e f u l l y b e f o r e u s i n g t h e t r a c t o r and r o t a r y broom.


Be thoroughly f a m i l i a r w i t h t h e c o n t r o l s and p r o p e r u s e of t h e equipment. Know
how t o s t o p t h e u n i t and d i s e n g a g e t h e c o n t r o l s q u i c k l y .

2. Never a l l o w c h i l d r e n t o o p e r a t e equipment. Never a l l o w a d u l t s t o o p e r a t e equipment


without proper i n s t r u c t i o n .

3 . Keep t h e a r e a of o p e r a t i o n c l e a r of a l l p e r s o n s and a n i m a l s .

4. Never o p e r a t e t r a c t o r i n n o n - v e n t i l a t e d a r e a .

PREPARATION
1 1 . Make s u r e t h a t the a t t a c h m e n t d r i v e i s disengaged b e f o r e s t a r t i n g t h e engine.

2. Never a t t e m p t t o make any a d j u s t m e n t s while e n g i n e i s running.

3 . Thoroughly i n s p e c t t h e a r e a where t h e equipment i s t o be used and remove a l l


b o a r d s , w i r e s and o t h e r f o r e i g n o b j e c t s .

4. Never o p e r a t e t h e r o t a r y broom w i t h o u t good v i s i b i l i t y .

5. Never wear l o o s e , t o r n o r bulky c l o t h i n g around t h e t r a c t o r and a t t a c h m e n t s . It


may c a t c h on moving p a r t s o r c o n t r o l s , l e a d i n g t o t h e risk of a c c i d e n t s .

6. Prolonged exposure t o loud n o i s e can c a u s e impairment o r l o s s of h e a r i n g . Wear

4. Keep a c a r e f u l watch f o r f o r e i g n o b j e c t s t h a t could damage the r o t a r y broom w h i l e


operating.

5. Do n o t sweep a c r o s s the f a c e of s l o p e s . E x e r c i s e extreme c a u t i o n when changing


d i r e c t i o n on s l o p e s . Do n o t attempt t o sweep steep s l o p e s .

6. Never o p e r a t e the t r a c t o r o r broom w i t h o u t g u a r d s , p l a t e s and o t h e r s a f e t y


p r o t e c t i v e d e v i c e s i n place.

7. Use care when backing up.

8. Never d i r e c t d i s c h a r g e a t b y s t a n d e r s o r windows. Never a l l o w anyone i n f r o n t


o f t h e r o t a r y broom.

9. Disengage power t o broom when t r a n s p o r t i n g or when n o t i n u s e .

10. S t o p t h e e n g i n e whenever you l e a v e the o p e r a t i n g p o s i t i o n , b e f o r e making any


repairs, a d j u s t m e n t s o r i n s p e c t i o n s .

11 . I f the broom should s t a r t t o v i b r a t e abnormally, s t o p the e n g i n e immediately


and check f o r the cause. V i b r a t i o n is g e n e r a l l y a warning of t r o u b l e .

12. Take a l l p o s s i b l e p r e c a u t i o n s when l e a v i n g the v e h i c l e unattended. Disengage


t h e a t t a c h m e n t d r i v e , s e t p a r k i n g brake, s t o p the e n g i n e and remove t h e key.

1 3 . Never o p e r a t e the r o t a r y broom on any k i n d of carpet.

MAINTKNANCE AND STORAGE

1 . P r o v i d e adequate b l o c k i n g b e f o r e working under the broom when i n raised p o s i t i o n .

2. When c l e a n i n g , r e p a i r i n g o r i n s p e c t i n g , make c e r t a i n t h a t a l l moving p a r t s have


stopped.

3. Keep broom away from flames and i n t e n s e heat.

completing assembly, torque a l l b o l t s according t o the torque
s p e c i f i c a t i o n t a b l e on page 21.

STEP 1 : PREPARATION

a) I n s e r t a p a r k i n g s t a n d ( f i g . 1 , item 1 )
i n each s t a n d s u p p o r t from t h e u n d e r s i d e .
I n s t a l l a 5/32" x 1 1/4" c o t t e r p i n i n
upper ' h o l e of each p a r k i n g s t a n d . S e t
p a r k i n g s t a n d s i n most extended p o s i t i o n
and s e c u r e each s t a n d w i t h a 4mm x 80mm
h a i r p i n ( f i g . 1 , item 2 ) .

b) I n s t a l l a d a p t e r ( f i g . 1 , item 3 1 i n s i d e

LUBRICATION

3 ) which s e c u r e s each s i d e p l a t e t o broom
housing.
