REFLECTION PAPER

TITLE WHAT I LEARNED?

TOPIC Quality Management and Standard
NAME OF Segundo, Shameliene C.
STUDENT
GROUP Group 5
NUMBER

For the past four months in this subject, I enjoyed it a lot. This thought me that
doing business is tough and if you are weak you won’t succeed because it has lots of
trials and errors that will be done. Quality Management lesson what all people does want
when purchasing and that influences me that as a consumer we expect a lot from what we
purchase as much as the businesses want it for us.

I say that I enjoy the Quality Management lesson because of what I learned
about how did it happen. Where many people are involved in developing the quality of a
product. For example, it is good to learn that the items we buy run into a process of quality
like the Zero Defect by Crosby. And I also appreciate the part of the lesson where it
emphasizes that products are being improved over time. Also, I enjoy our lesson in the
standard where it still has a connection with the quality. That being said that consumers
tend to have a standard in purchasing and they want the best quality. Thus, through this
lesson, I learned that as a consumer it is important to check the standards and the quality
of the item and services we pay for so that we won’t get mad and throw a fit about it. As a
quote said, “Safety is the priority, Quality is the standard”. That being said that with quality
and standards we are safe and it is important.

Moreover, the subject didn’t just thought me as a consumer but also as a future
businesswoman. And when I’m thinking of the lessons and reading about successful
businesses it made me wonder if ever I can make it. Just in the quality and standard, I’m
thinking that the businesses may have strives hard on it and have suffered trouble in
perfecting it. And that I discovered the product we want to offer the people is not just like
eating a cake but it will give you hard time and will make you think a lot. For example, the
final requirement that we had where the firm we chose is Coca-Cola and I can say that they
were successful in having it as an international business and are still paving the way. And I
discovered through their history that it had not been easy starting especially since the
product they sell can be harmful to our health. But they were able to concur it all and their
efforts are worth it. Thus, it gave me these insights, and thought if I can do it too just like
what Coca-Cola and other businesses do.

All in all the subject had a huge impact on my life as my goal is to make my own
business. And that I can say that all the lessons are important and can be a big help for me
in the future and that you will think that there is not a least important about the lessons
because they were interrelated and that in the process if one is missing then it will lead to
failure. And that I could not ask for more for the lessons but it made me wonder if we are
face-to-face. Then maybe we had some research done about businesses around the city
and have an interview on how they come to it and how did they start. And also maybe we
can have an activity where to think about our own business and make our prototype too,
that would have been stressful but we will enjoy it because our creativity will be used. Isn’t
that a great way to test what we have learned? Because as always thought to us that when
we acquire knowledge we must take it to wisdom or application.

In summary, the semester has been a lot of fun and ideas. And I like how
engaging the way of teaching especially since it is online but it is still a two-way
communication in class where it is fun to share and listen to the ideas of the others too.
And that I enjoyed the topic about Standard and Quality Management which help me to be
a good buyer and also as a future businesswoman. And that it had thought me a great
lesson about Coca-Cola that businesses have ups and downs. Therefore, in the future and
when I graduate I must take all the lessons I learned when I make my own business. And I
want to leave this quote that touches me and motivates me to continue on this path, from
Richard Branson stating that “Do not be embarrassed about your failure, learn from them
and start again.”
