Aim Of The Experiment: The objective is to improve the quality of life and convenience in the home, as
well as residents' safety and security. Smart home applications also often ensure more efficient use of
energy.
Software Required:
➔ Cisco Packet Tracer (Student version)
➔ Server
➔ Switch
➔ IoT devices:
◆ Garage door
◆ Ceiling fan
◆ Door
◆ Light

Theory:
A smart home is a home equipped with advanced automation and communication technologies that
enable residents to control and monitor various home appliances and systems remotely. These
technologies include the Internet of Things (IoT), which refers to the connection of physical
devices to the internet and the exchange of data between them.

Smart home devices are typically connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, allowing the
homeowner to control and monitor them remotely through a mobile app or a voice-activated
assistant. Examples of smart home devices include smart thermostats, smart lights, smart locks,
smart cameras, and smart appliances.
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM:

PROCEDURE:
● Open cisco packet tracer.

● Include the server, switch and the iot devices (Garage door, ceiling fan, lamp and door).

● Make all the connections.

● Configure the IP addresses for all the devices.

● Create the account on the IoT monitor of the server.

● Connect the IoT devices to the server.

OBSERVATIONS & RESULTS:

● We observed that the Iot devices were well connected to the server and we could easily
control the devices through the iot monitor of the server.
CONCLUSION:

The IoT application using Cisco Packet has been experimentally proven to work satisfactorily by
connecting simple appliances to it and the appliances were successfully controlled remotely through the
internet.
