AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES: General Entry Requirements:
Applicants for National Diploma are admitted based on qualifications obtained in
NECO, SSCE, WASCE, and GCE O’Level, NABTEB or their equivalents.

ALL APPLICANTS SEEKING ADMISSION INTO ND PART-TIME PROGRAMMES MUST


VISIT THE JAMB OFFICE TO APPLY AND FILL JAMB PART-TIME APPLICATION FORM.
NOTE THAT ONLY ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS WITH THE EVIDENCE OF COMPLETED JAMB
PART TIME APPLICATION FORMS WOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION.
Non-Technology Based Programmes:
Accountancy Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than 2 sittings
including English Language, Mathematics and at least one of
Economics/Commerce.

Two (2) other credits in any of Principles of Accounts/Book Keeping, Statistics,


Government, Geography, History, Business Methods/Studies, Literature in English,
Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Language (Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo/
French), Religious Studies (CRK/IRK).
Business Administration and Management Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than 2 sittings
including English Language, Mathematics and at least one of Economics/Commerce.

Two (2) other credits in any of Principles of Accounts/Book Keeping, Literature in


English, Business Methods/Studies, History, Statistics, Geography, Government,
Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, Financial Account/Book Keeping,
Language (Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo/French)
Marketing Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than 2 sittings
including English Language, Mathematics and at least one of Economics/Commerce.

Two (2) other credits in any of Principles of Accounts/Book Keeping, Literature in


English, Business Methods/Studies, Statistics, Geography, Government/History,
Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, Financial Account/Book Keeping,
Language (Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo/French), Religious Studies (CRK/IRK), Marketing and
Civic Education, Typewriting, Shorthand, Office Practice.
Banking & Finance Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than 2 sittings
including English Language, Mathematics and at least one of Economics/Commerce.

Two (2) other credits in any of Principles of Accounts/Book, Keeping, Statistics,


Government, Geography, History, Business Methods/Studies, Literature in English,
Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Language (Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo/
French), Religious Studies (CRK/IRK). Office Practice, Typewriting, Shorthand.
Technology Based Programmes:
Mass Communication Requirements:
Credit Passes in five (5) O’level subjects including English Language and Mathematics
obtained at not more than two sittings. Literature- in- English or Oral English are not
acceptable as substitutes for English language.

Three (3) other Credits from Government/History, Economics, Geography, Physics,


Chemistry, Business Studies/Method, English Literature, Biology/Agricultural
Science, Accounting/Book Keeping, Language (Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo/French),
Religious Studies (CRK/IRK).

Note: Mass Communication requires a Pass in English Literature in addition to the


normal entry requirements.
Office Technology &Management (Secretarial Studies) Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including English Language, Mathematics
Three (3) other credits from Typewriting, Shorthand, Office Practice, Economics/
Commerce, Literature in English, Principles of Accounts/Book Keeping, Business
Methods, History/Government, Geography, Biology/Agric. Science, Physics,
Chemistry, Data Processing.
Hospitality Management Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including English Language, Mathematics and one of Biology/Agric. Science/Food and
Nutrition.

Two (2) other credits from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Statistics, Commerce/


Economics, Health Science, Food & Nutrition/Home Economics/Catering Craft,
Geography, Government, Technical Drawing and one Nigerian language
(Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa).
Leisure & Tourism Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including English Language, Mathematics and Geography.

Two (2) other credits from Economics/ Commerce, History, Book Keeping, Principles
of Accounts, Mathematics, Fine Arts, French, Food & Nutrition, Home Economics,
Government and one Nigerian language. (Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa).
Nutrition and Dietetics Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including English Language and Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science/
Health Science.

One (1) other credits from Physics, Economics/Commerce, Home Economics/


Management, Food and Nutrition.
Environmental Science and Management Technology Requirements:
(i) Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
which include English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) science subjects –
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science and Geography.

(ii) GCE O’Level or its equivalent (West African School Certificate) with credit passes in
Five relevant subjects as specified in (i) above.

(iii) National Technical Certificate (NTC) with credit passes in mathematics, chemistry,
physics, English Language and one other from Mechanical, Electrical, Radio and
TV, Computer and Related trade areas.
Library and Information Science Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects in any of
the followings: History, Civic Education, Music, French, Economics, Government,
CRS/IRS, Geography, Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Biology.
Science Laboratory Technology Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including English Language, Mathematics, Credits in two of the three core science
subjects and at least a pass in the third science subjects namely: Physics, Chemistry,
Biology/Agric. Science.

Other credits from Economics, Geography, Technical Drawing, Metal or Wood Work,
Fine Arts, Basic Electricity/Electronics, Further Mathematics, Statistics, Language
(Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa), English Language.
Food Technology Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including English Language, Mathematics, Credits in the following two core science
subjects namely: Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science.

Other credits from the following subjects; Economics, Geography, Further


Mathematics, Physics and Technical Drawing, Home Economic, Food and Nutrition.

Note: A pass in Physics is required (along with other five credits).


Pharmaceutical Technology Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and a pass in Physics.

One (1) other credits from any of Geography, Economics and Technical Drawing, English
Language, Food & Nutrition, Physics and Agricultural Science.
Computer Science Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two (2) sittings
including Mathematics, Physics/Basic Electricity/Electronics and English Language.

Other credits from Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science/ Food and Nutrition, Computer
Studies/Data Processing, Economics/Commerce, Geography and Further
Mathematics.
Statistics/Mathematics Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects at not more than two sittings including
Mathematics and English Language.

Three (3) other credits from Economics, Geography, Government/ History, Book-
keeping/Accounting, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural
Science and Commerce.
Architectural Technology Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects at not more than two sittings including
Mathematics, Physics and English Language

Two (2) other credits from Biology, Fine Art, Chemistry, History, Further Mathematics,
Geography, Economics/Commerce and Technical Drawing, Business Methods, Religious
Knowledge.
Estate Management Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two sittings including
English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one credit from Physics/Chemistry/
Biology/Agric. Science.

One (1) other credit from Geography, Government, Technical Drawing, Commerce,
Fine Art, Principles of Accounts, Book Keeping, Language (Yoruba/Hausa/ Igbo), Food
& Nutrition, Literature-in-English, Wood Work, Metal Work.
Quantity Surveying Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects at not more than two (2) sittings. These
subjects must include English language and Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry.

And any other two (2) additional Credit Passes in any of Fine Arts, Technical Drawing or
Engineering Drawing, Geography, Economics, Biology/Agric Science, Further
Mathematics
Surveying and Geo-Informatics Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects at not more than two (2) sittings. These
subjects must include Mathematics, Physics and English language.

And any other two (2) additional Credit Passes in any of Chemistry, Fine Arts, Technical
Drawing or Engineering Drawing, Geography, Economics, Biology/Agric Science, Basic
Electricity, Further Mathematics
Building Technology Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects at not more than two (2) sittings. These
subjects must include Mathematics, Physics and English Language.

And two (2) other additional Credit passes in any of Technical Drawing, Metal
Work/Wood Work, Further Mathematics, Geography, Biology/Agric Science, Chemistry
and Economics/Commerce, Religious Knowledge.
Art and Industrial Design Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects at not more than two sittings including
Mathematics and English Language.

Three (3) other credits from Biology/Agric. Science, English Language, Fine Art/Visual
Art/Cultural and Creative Art/Die and Bleaching, Chemistry, History/Government,
Literature in English, Clothing and Textiles, Geography, Economics/Commerce,
Religious Knowledge, Technical Drawing and Home Economics.
Urban and Regional Planning Requirements:
Credit passes in five (5) O’level subjects at not more than two sittings including English
Language, Mathematics, and at least one (1) from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and
Economics.

Two (2) other credits from Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Geography,
Economics/Commerce, Fine Arts/Technical Drawing, Government/History, Religious
Knowledge and one Nigerian Language.
Electrical/Electronics Engineering Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects at not more than two sittings including
English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.

One (1) other credit from Metal Work, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Basic
Electricity/Electronics, Biology/Agric. Science, Geography, Electrical Installation and
Maintenance Work, Economics, Computer Studies, Civic Education, Radio, T. V and
Electrical Work, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Auto Mechanical Work, Auto
Electrical Work, GSM Phone Maintenance and Repair.
Computer Engineering Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two sittings
including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

One (1) other credit from Metal Work, Technical Drawing, Auto Mechanics, Further
Mathematics, Basic Electricity/Electronics, Biology/Agric. Science, Geography,
Economics/Commerce, Computer Studies, Civic Education, GSM Phone Maintenance
and Repair, Data Processing.
Mechanical Engineering Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two sittings
including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

One (1) other credit from Metal Work, Technical Drawing, Auto Mechanics, Further
Mathematics, Basic Electricity/Electronics, Biology/Agric. Science, Geography,
Economics, Computer Studies, Civic Education, Auto Body Repair and Spray Painting,
Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Welding and pipe Fitting, Plumbing and Pipe
Fitting.
Civil Engineering Requirements:
Credit passes in Five (5) O’level subjects obtained at not more than two sittings
including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

One (1) other credit from Metal Work, Technical Drawing, Auto Mechanics, Further
Mathematics, Basic Electricity/Electronics, Biology/Agric. Science, Geography,
Economics/ Commerce, Computer Studies, Civic Education, Block Laying and
Concreting, Upholstery, Furniture Making, Carpentry and Joinery, Machine Wood
working, Plumbing and pipe Fitting.

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME TWO (2) YEAR PROGRAMME AND PART-TIME PROGRAMME

NOTE: Please note that the General Entry Requirements stated for National Diploma (ND) Part-Time suffice for HND
Full-time and Part-Time respectively.

Applicant must:
1. Consult the institution’s prospectus on the website or the advert to ascertain their qualifications for
programmes being applied for. Candidates should not register for programmes for which they do not have
the requirements. Admission to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta is provisional; ANYTIME it is
discovered that a candidate registered for a programme for which he/she is not qualified or a candidate is in
violation of any of the procedures and rules thereof, the admission would be withdrawn.
2. Satisfy the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Entry Requirements for each relevant National Diploma Programme;
3. Pass at not below Lower Credit in the relevant National Diploma Programmes from accredited programmes/institutions
and in addition must have completed a minimum of one calendar year post National Diploma relevant work experience
(evidence of industrial work experience is required).
OR
Candidates with a Pass at ND level, plus two (2) calendar years post National Diploma relevant work experience could be
considered for admission (evidence of two (2) years Industrial Work Experience is required);
4. Request his/her former Institution to send transcripts of his/her academic record to the Registrar, Moshood Abiola
Polytechnic, Abeokuta;
Note: No candidate will be registered before receipt of the academic transcript.
5. Applicants who obtained their National Diploma (ND) from other Polytechnics with Pre-ND as their entry qualification
shall not be admitted. Post-qualification School Certificate ordinary level results are not admissible.
6. Candidates with National Diploma in Banking & Finance and Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) Certificate are not
qualified for admission into HND Accountancy Programme.
7. Candidates wishing to specialize in either Environmental Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Physics must have credit at
O’level in their areas of specialization.

fee of Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N7,500.00) only, then proceed to my.mapoly.edu.ng to complete applications forms on-line.
