The line graph gives information about the amount of fish, chicken, beef, lamb consumed by
a European country from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, there was an upward trend in the consumption of chicken, the opposite pattern
could be observed in that of beef, lamb, and fish. Fish was the least favorite food throughout
the surveyed period.
In 1979, beef was the most popular food with more than 200 grams of beef being eaten by
one person in a week. Beef continued to remain its first place until 1987, after which was a
steady decline to just over 0.1kg in 2004. Similarly, limb meat, which was the second most
consumed meat at the beginning of the period, dropped significantly in usage to
approximately 50 grams at the end of the period.
Chicken, on the other hand, surpassed the consumption of beef in 1989 and received the
largest intake by people at nearly 250 grams by 2004. Fish was the least eaten food in
general, started at just over 50 grams and ended at roughly 47 grams with few changes in
the amount throughout each year.
