2. Parabole 𝑦 = 𝑎𝑥 2 with value a = 2

3. Parabole 𝑦 = 𝑎𝑥 2 with value a = 1.6

4. Parabole 𝑦 = 𝑎𝑥 2 with value a = 3.4

2 excersice:
a. The parabola is concave up when the a is between (0,5]
b. The parabola is concave down when the a is between [-5,0)
c. The “ancho” oof the parabola is determinated by the absolute value of (a). For the parabola
to be narrower that the graph of ( y = x ), we need ( a > 1 ).
d. To make the parabola wide, that te graph of y = x, we need the absolute value of (a) to be
less than 1. So, the value of (a) that make the parabola wider than the graph of y = x is a < 1.

3.

In ( y = x + c ) for different values of c between –10 and +10 are possible:

-c=-5y=x–5

- c = 2,5 y = x + 2,5

-c=8y=x+8

4.

The function will behave as it tends to infinity when (x) approaches 0 from the right and approaches
0 as (x) tends to infinity when (b) is negative. The function will act in the opposite way when (b) is
positive.

First, let's consider ( a = 1):

1. The function for (b = -10) will rapidly increase as (x) near to infinity and decrease as it approaches
0 from the right.

2. The function will still grow quickly approaching 0 for (b = -5) but not as much as it will for (b = -10).

3. The function will move closer to 0 more slowly for (b = -2) than for (b = -5).

4. As (x ) goes to infinity, the function will get closer to 0 for (b = -1).

5. The function will be a horizontal line at (y = 1) for (b = 0).

6. The function for (b = 1) will be a straight line with a slope of 1 that passes through the origin.

7. As (x) grows, the function will increase faster than a straight line for (b = 2).

8. For (b = 5), the function will approach 0 for negative (x) and increase quickly for positive (x).

9. As (x) increases from 0 for (b = 10), the function will increase very quickly.

The function's behavior will be like that of positive (b) values for negative values of (b), but with the
opposite directionality.

5.

If (b) is in the positive:

- The line becomes steeper as its slope grows for (b > 1).

- The slope lessens as the line becomes less steep for (0 < b < 1).

- The line has a slope of 1 when (b = 1), making an angle of 45 degrees with the x-axis.

If (b) is not positive:

- The line slopes downward to the right, but the slope reduces for (b < -1).

- The line continues to slope downward and to the right even if the slope increases for (-1 < b < 0).

- The line has a slope of -1 when (b = -1), which also produces a 45-degree angle but slopes
downward and to the right.

The line becomes a horizontal line parallel to the (x) axis when (b = 0).

6.

If (b) is in the positive:

- The parabola narrows and moves to the left when (b) is increased.

- The parabola widens and moves to the right when (b) decreases.

If (b) is not positive:

- The parabola narrows and moves to the right when (b) is increased.

- The parabola widens and moves to the left when (b) decreases.

The parabola's position and width change when (b) is changed. It shifts left when the value of (b) is
positive and right when the value of (b) is negative. The "ancho" of the parabola is influenced by the
magnitude of (b), with bigger magnitudes making it broader and lesser magnitudes making it
narrower.
