Q.N QUESTION MARK CO’ RBT

O S S L
Module 4
1. a) Derive the equation for static longitudinal stability of an aircraft. L3&
15+5 CO4
b) Brief on stick fixed neutral point and static margin. L2
(OR)
2. a) A wing body model is tested in a subsonic wind tunnel. The lift is found
to be zero at a geometric angle of attack α = -1.5°. At α = 5°, the lift
coefficient is measured as 0.52. Also, at α = 1° and 7.88°, the moment
coefficients about the center of gravity are measured as -0.01 and 0.05
respectively. The center of gravity is located at 0.35c. Calculate the

location of the aerodynamic center and the value of CM,acwb.
b) For a wing -body combination, the aerodynamic center lies 0.05 chord
length ahead of the center of gravity. The moment coefficient about the
aerodynamic center is -0.016. If the lift coefficient is 0.45, Calculate the
moment coefficient about the center of gravity.
Module 5
3. a) Explain in detail about aerodynamic balancing methods.
14+6 CO4 L2
b) Distinguish Between stick fixed and stick free stability.
(OR)
4. Explain the contribution of airframe components to the static directional
