your own robot design! You will get newer versions by exchanging the

Weapons
````````
There is a large listing of weapons for your machine, Ridepod. The
strongest versions of the weapon can obtained only via invention.
Weapons for Ridepod cannot be build-up or even synthesizing crystals
to boost it stats. The stats for the weapons are fixed, which also
means their WPN points are fixed too. Repair Powder helps to restore
half of the weapon's WPN. You can also have Cedric to repair the
parts by using his support ability (skill points) or talk to him
and choose "Fix Ridepod Parts" option to repair the weapon.
Weapons
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Weapons are your character's primary source of attack. To inflict more
damage, you need to synthesize items to enhance the weapon's ability.
For example, Power Crystal adds +2 to Attack while Destruction Crystal
adds +3 to Smash. You can also spectramize items like weapons (which
requires more Synthesize points as compared to others), items (such as
Georama), Ridepod parts and weapons, etc.
To earn synthesis points, you just need to defeat the monsters and
collect those blue shards to build up the meter. Once the meter is
full, you will get the weapon to level up. Different weapon levels up
giving different amount of Synthesis points and stronger weapons can
give up to a maximum of 6 Synthesis points per level up. Once a
weapon has reached level 99, it cannot longer absorbs the shards or
level up. You will find the name of the weapon changes as you level
up.
As you progress onto the game, you can buy more advanced versions of
the weapons. Some of the stronger weapons can be won by uncovering
treasure chests in dungeons like Zelmite Mines and Moon Flower Palace.

Monsters

i) Bestiary
````````````````````````````
The bestiary found here listed the monster's ID number in Monster Notes,
their strengths and weakness, items dropped, ABS and Gilda Gain. The
enemies have divided into groups on dungeons location.
Monster Type refers to the enemy's generic type. For example, Undead
are weak against Exorcism and they can be severely damaged with Holy
Stone and Water. Monster Type is also essential when you are finding
clues by changing Monica into a monster. Remember the badges are named
with monster types right? When transforming into a Sewer Rat (i.e. use
the Beast Badge), Monica can converse with any Beast type enemies such
Sewer Rat, Death Mouse, Ram, Elfas, Molars, etc. Change monster type is
relatively useful if Monica is surrounded by enemy of the same monster
type.
Bats
======
1 3 5 8
Bat -> Sea Bat -> Lava Bat -> Evil Bat
Attacks: Bite
Bats are flying creatures that are pretty hard to aim with items or
close-range attacks. But you can hit with close range when they get
close to your character by using a charged attack. They are easy
targets with Max's long-range weapons. When using Ridepod's long
range attacks, attack them from a far position. Lock-on is a must.
Rats
======
1 4 7 8
Sewer Rat -> Beach Rat -> Castle Eater -> Death Mouse
Attacks: Log Strike, Headbutt
Rats have only 2 basic attacks - a tail whip and a charging Headbutt.
They can be juggled using Max's charged attack or combo hits with
wrench. Upon noticing a target, they tends to charge forward thus
making them vulnerable to long-range or close attacks. You can stun
them by using a rock or an object.
Molars
========
2 4 8 8
Molar -> Sand Molar -> Mine Molar -> Busy Molar
Attacks: Burrow and Leap
Molars are tough and they are a pain in a neck. They can dodge from all
attacks when they are underground. However, if your weapon has the Stop
or Poison ability, it is very useful to fight against them. Use Max's
spin attack helps a lot. You can hit them with guns/Ridepod, but it
would be hard to do so.
3 5 8 8
Ram -> Savage Ram -> Ram Z -> Bandou
Attacks: Charge, Club Attack
Rams are the stronger version of chargers. But watch out for advanced
class of the Gyumos. They has the ability to lift your character high
in mid-air after they attack with the charge. You can juggled them with
Max's spin attack but not throwing them.
Wolves
=======
2 5 6 8
Hunter Fox -> Rifle Wolf -> Red Fox -> Smiling Wolf
Attacks: Bolt Shot, Barrel Hit
These snipers are deadly when you are amidst of fighting another enemy
while these guys are firing gunshots to weaken your character. Their
Bolt Shot can deal a nasty 60 damage per hit (for Smiling Wolf) if you
are guarding. When you are close to it, it will try to hit you with
their barrel. They can be stunned, thrown or juggled.
Birds
=======
2 4 5 8
Tigriff -> Leogriff -> Chimera -> Sphinx (boss)
Attacks: Spikes Shower, Claw Swoop
These Ridepod-size birds can damage if you do not take precautions when
fighting against them. When they lead in mid-air, they can fire spikes
at your character from a distance. They can also choose to swoop down
for a physical damage. Use combo hits is perhaps the best way to fight
them. But for an easy kill use Ridepod. They can be stunned though.
Beast Magicians
=================
3 6 8 8
Smiling Fairy -> Heat Fairy -> Fairy Helper -> Hell Fairy
Attacks: Fire Ball, Sword Attack
3 6 7 8
Priest of Rama -> Sleeber -> Crow Priest -> Garuda
Attacks: Clap, Heal, Beam
These magicians can fire magic at your character and they have close
range attacks too. Priests can heal with their magic and causes
elemental damage with their magic (which could cause curse). They can
be stunned, thrown or juggled.
Elephants
===========
1 3 7 8
Linda (boss) -> Elfas -> Moonflowephant -> Behemoth
Attacks: Vertical Heel Stomp, Nose Whip
Despite having 3 classes only, Elephants are tough. Although they are
Ridepod-size, it is possible to defeat them using your character's
projectile and weapons (provided enough beasts points). Their attacks
are close-range. However, you can use the run-and-hit strategy i.e.
attack first when the enemy is about to execute, run again. Repeat
the process...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
AQUATIC
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frogs
=======
1 4 8 8
Froggy -> Geron -> Gamal -> Putos
Attacks: Double Kick, Venom
They hop and dodge bullets quite easily. They can jump close to
your character and hit with their flippers and spits juice that
causes Poison and other nasty status ailments. They can be juggled
and thrown. Use a charged attack and released it when it is within
2 4 6 8
Tortoise -> Sea Tortoise -> Star Tortoise -> Ebony Tortoise
Attacks: Headbutt, Guard
Turtles and Tortoises are different. Turtles are smaller version and
have a rolling attack and the ability to guard. Tortoises are large
versions with a sneaking Headbutt attack and the ability to guard.
Turtles can be carried and juggled using a charged attack. Tortoise,
on the hand are a bit more difficult to handle since guns (normal) do
not works well against its hard shell. Just use a charged attack and
stay as far as you could but make sure the tortoise is within the
charged attack's attacking radius.
Goyones
=========
4 5 7 8
Goyone -> Steam Goyone -> Moon Goyone -> Mariner
Attacks: Goyone Charge, Sticky Sap
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MAGICAL CREATURE
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Balloons
==========
1 1 7 8
Baron Balloon -> Flotsam Balloon -> Count Balloon -> Duke Balloon
Attacks: Globe Press, Hazard Hat
Balloons can be pierced easy. However, they can do combo damage when
they are close your character. Stay away from them or use a charged
attack for a safety precaution. They can be stunned easily.
Golems
========
3 5 7 8
Golem -> Lava Golem -> Rock Taster -> Titan
Attacks: Punch, Ground Punch
Although slow, they are powerful titans. They have massive power and
wipe your character off their feet with a punch. Ground Punch dealt
damage surrounding the Golem. Their moves are slow thus you can use
the run-and-hit strategy. They can be stunned. If your projectiles
have high Smash ratings, they will be easy to deal with.
Rock
======
3 5 8 8
Ivanoff -> Magmaoff -> Rock Face -> Iwanosuke
Attacks: Roll and Charge, Bite
The Rock's attacks are pretty similar. Their rolling attack is so fast
that you have problem in running away but you can counter with a
charged attack though. When within the attacking range, they will
execute the roll and charge. Their bite attack will be used when you
are close to them. They can be stunned and juggled.
Dog
=====
3 6 7 8
Stone Dog -> Coral Dog -> Toy Rock -> Cerberus
Attacks: Dash Charge
Despite having one attack (which usually around 1.5 times more than
an enemy normal attack), they are tough. Cerberus can deal 100 HP
damage with an unguarded charge. Although, you can stop the charge
temporarily by the character's charged attack. I recommend you to
use Ridepod or use the run-and-hit tactic with Max's gun or Monica's
Statues
=========
4 6 7 8
Statue -> Living Armour -> Guardia -> Dark Keeper
Attacks: Hammer Swing, Hammer Strike
Magicians
===========
3 5 7 8
Crescent Baron -> Stick Joe -> Moon Joe -> Moonlight Hulk
Attacks: Flame Shot, Cloth Whip
They have 2 types of attacks - a homing magic attack and a spin attack
when in close range. Just dodge their homing attacks and use a combo
hit or shoot with your gun/magic. You can absorb their magic using
Monica's Magic-Absorb Blade and fire back at them. You can repel their
magic with Max's charged attack. You can stun them in mid-air when they
are hit by rocks etc. The leaping jump (forward + X) is needed if you
intend to them to hit them with a melee weapon.
Faces
=======
3 5 8 8
Face of Prajna -> Alexander -> Face of Yaksa -> Demon Puppet
Attacks: Fan and Pole, Magic
They are easy to attack as they can be stunned and juggled. You can
even repel their magic attack. They move around their body parts to
dodge your projectiles...
Mimics
========
Attacks: Jump & Bite
You will only encounter them upon opening a "loaded" chest. They can
only jumps and low number of rage counters (i.e. they get to
pumped-up status quite fast). There is a trick in defeating them.
Always make a habit in opening the chests from behind so that you
wack them with a charged attack (i.e. juggle them) without substaining
serious injuries. When you get a laser gun, they are very easy to
fight...
King Mimics
=============
Attacks: Jump & Bite, Clap
You will only encounter them upon opening a "loaded" chest. These ones
are tougher than Mimics not because of their size (i.e. Ridepod-size),
they have only 3 to 4 Rage Counters. They will get pump-up status if
you do not kill them in 3 to 4 shots. There is a trick in defeating
them. Always make a habit in opening the chests from behind so that
you wack them with a charged attack (i.e. juggle them) without
substaining serious injuries. When you get a laser gun, they are very
easy to fight...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
FLORAL
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trees
=======
1 5 6 8
Tore -> Steam Tore -> Mad Tore -> Great Tree
Kotore Steam Kotore Dorone Small Tree
Attacks: Vine Slash, Fire out (Kotores)
Tore-types cannot be juggled for their size. They has only an attack,
a swipe attack using its branches and sending out Kotore-types from
its mouth. Kotore-types offers no ABS and some of them do not even
offer glidas. They will rush forward and explode upon making contact
with your character. Use projectiles and Ridepod to fight Tores is a
wise idea. When your close-range weapon has at least 200+ flame points,
you may want to consider to use them.
Pumpkinheads
Flowers
=========
2 6 8 8
Himarra -> Balalla -> Stormflower -> Mandora (boss)
Attacks: Floral Spin, Stick Sap
2 6 8 8
Man-Eating Grass -> Cursed Rose -> Dark Flower -> Mystery Plant
Attacks: Floral Whip, Stick Juice
Flowers can be damaging if you do not take caution. They have the
ability to bombard your characters with sap that could cause thirst,
goo or curse. If you get close to them, they will attack by spinning
their vines or leaves. They can be juggled, stunned or thrown.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
DARKLING
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spiders
=========
2 4 8 8
Spider Lady -> Shiva -> Spider Lady -> Bambamchoo
Attacks: Curse Shot, Curse
I am pretty sure that there are 2 types of Spider Lady. There is a huge
difference in their attacks and defense. They can fire beams that
causes curse and thirst status. They can be juggled, stunned and thrown.
Medusa
========
4 6 7 8
Auntie Medusa -> Fat Naga -> Miss Gourgon -> Mrs. Gourgon
Attacks: Grudge Blow, Petrify Beam
Make sure you have prepared some Anti-Petrify Amulets in floors that
have them. They could cause Petrify at your character with their beam
attack and attack your stone character till you see "Game Over" unless
you remove the status. You can repel their beam back to them with Max's
charged attack though while cause petrifcation for the enemy! They can
be juggled, stunned and thrown.
Masks
=======
3 5 8 8
Masked Tribesman -> Lava Runner -> Stone Guard -> Last Guardian
Attacks: Mask Mouth, Charge
They have a large mask covering a soldier who use it as a shield. They
will use the Mask Mouth when they are close to you. Their back is
very vulnerable to attacks. You can attack directly if your Smash has
over 200 (it is possible with the LEGEND hammer). To attack them, just
move in circles until you get their back and wipe them with a combo.
Or wait for them to charge and run till they fall down. Get to their
back and wack. They can be stunned when you use the rock at their back.
Flying Masks
==============
3 6 8 8
Nikapous -> Iron Mask -> Ummagumma -> Incuder
Attacks: Flame Shot, Guard, Heel Flip Kick
They float in mid-air while having a mask guarding their sides. They
are very vulnerable to attacks when the mask is "open" but that is
also the time that can also do their attacks. They can be stunned and
juggled (once you have knocked them to the ground)
Assassins
===========
5 7 8
Once your character is within their attack range, they charge towards
you doing a Leaping Cut. If you are close to it, it will do the claws
slash (up to 3 hit combo) You can juggle it once it is coming towards
you. You can also stun or throw it.
Burgers
=========
5 7 8
Burger -> Stormy -> Ladha
Attack: Poison Spray, Splash
The burgers are large slimy Ridepod-size creature with a big tummy.
Although slow, they have a spray attack that does mid-range in its
attacking radius for around 3 secs. You can attack it with your
projectiles. It can be stuned by hurling objects at it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
UNDEAD
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magicians
===========
1 4 7 8
Nightstalker -> Ragstink -> Leach -> Wraith
Attacks: Ballerina, Fire Magic (homing)
They have 2 types of attacks - a homing magic attack and a spin attack
when in close range. Just dodge their homing attacks and use a combo
hit or shoot with your gun/magic. You can absorb their magic using
Monica's Magic-Absorb Blade and fire back at them. You can repel their
magic with Max's charged attack. You can stun them in mid-air when they
are hit by rocks etc. The leaping jump (forward + X) is needed if you
intend to them to hit them with a melee weapon.
Shadows
=========
1 4 7 8
Darkness -> Sooty -> Darker -> Shadow
Attacks: Drill, Beam, Dodge
Skeletons
===========
I am still doing some researching on them. Hope to get it done by the
next update...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SPIRIT
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fairies
========
2 6 7 8
Pixie -> Slyph -> Faerie -> Imp
Attacks: Big Mouth, Flame Basket
Elements
==========
2 6 8 8
Fire Element -> Fire Spirit -> Fire Ghost -> Magma Servant
2 6 8 8
Ice Element -> Ice Spirit -> Snow Ghost -> Snow Servant
3 6 7 8
They can be juggled and stunned. They can be deadly if you got
attacked by them when you are off-guard. However you can repel their
magic attacks with Max's spin attack or absorbing the magic using
Monica's Magic-Absorb Blade. Just dodge their attack and attack with
your combo. Once they are on the ground, juggle them with your melee
weapon.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
WINDUP
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bombs
=======
5 6 8 8
Bomber Head -> Triple Cracker -> Danger Bomb -> Sweet Dynamite
Attacks: Rolling Punch, Headbuster, (Self-Explodes)
They can be tough or easier. Their basic attacks are weak but they can
knock you out cold with their self-explosion which does 3 times their
normal damage! They will execute that move when their HP is critical
low. Once a bomb is destroyed in this manner, you will earn 0 ABS and
Glidas. Thus it would be better to go for a quick kill. They can be
juggled, stunned or thrown.
3 5 7 8
Yo-yo Barrel -> Rolling Rocks -> Clock Knight -> Spinning Saucer
Attacks: Yo-yo ball, Spin Attack
You don't believe me, their attacks are similar. Both can execute
a spin attack. Vanguards can do a trample attack (i.e. both hands
on the ground and a lift-up) and punch forward. Yo-yo types have
only an attack - a yo-yo attack. It is quite hard to fight as the
characters for the reason that these cannot be juggled (they are
Ridepod-size monsters) but they can be stunned/stop. Using Ridepod's
range weapon can easily finish them. There are a bit of loop holes
in their attacking style - i.e. Yo-yo's yo-yo attack only mid-range
but when your character is very close to it.
Knights
=========
6 7 8 8
Arthur -> Lancer -> Iron Spear -> Flying Steel
Attacks: Charging Spear, Homing Missile
------------------------------------------------------------------------
REPTILE FAMILY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Snakes
========
2 4 8 8
Killer Snake -> Sea Serpeant -> Sand Dragon -> Dead Rope
Attacks: Burrow and Leap, Bite
Snakes are huge. Just imagine a larger version of Molers with longer
length, higher attacking power but lower speed. When it is underground,
you cannot hit with your projectiles including Monica's magic. It will
attempt to get close to your character so that it can do its leaping
Flying Dragons
================
3 5 7 8
Fire Gemron -> Fire Gundron -> Fire Drake -> Fire Wyrm
3 5 7 8
Ice Gemron -> Ice Gundron -> Ice Drake -> Ice Wyrm
3 5 8 8
Thunder Gemron -> Thunder Gundron -> Thunder Drake -> Thunder Wyrm
3 5 8 8
Wind Gemron -> Wind Gundron -> Wind Drake -> Wind Wyrm
3 5 8 8
Holy Gemron -> Holy Gundron -> Holy Drake -> Holy Wyrm
Attacks: Magic (depends on the element), Charging Roll
Dragons
=========
4 5 7 8
Attacks: Claw Swipe, Dragon Breath
To access the menu, you must be in Georama Mode and hit Triangle to
access the menu. From the menu, you will find 6 tabs and they are:-
ii) Controls
`````````````````````````````````````````````
The controls for Georama mode is relatively simple.
>> Build
Build allows you to make objects. Certain objects such as the Church
can only be built once, while you can have endless supply of others
such as torn trees.
>> Place
Placing is the tough part of Georama as there is a limited area, you
need to place your objects with ideaful minds and careful planning. You
can rotate the placeable objects with R2 or L2 button. When an object
can be place on the area, it will be highlighted in blue. If it cannot
be placed, it will be highlighted in red instead. You can build bigger
objects such as fencing around the house (consists of multiple fences)
or a pier (consists of multiple wooden blocks) etc. You can even place
objects on top of each other. Certain characters will be staying in
that house if it place near a certain object. For example, Gordon will
stay inside a house if the house is near a tree.
>> Paint
Bring more colors to your dull-looking towns. Make the world more
colourful as you can enhance the features or add in Culture Points (it
will be discussed more details in the next section). Larger objects
requires more units of paint by the way.
>> Clean-Up
You will be doing this a lot of often. It is wise to do some clean-up
before you start to build your town in Sindain. Cleaning up painted
objects will remove the paint as well.

Moon Flower Palace - Georama Condition
------------------------------------------------------------------------
For this area, only objects obtained from Geostones found in Moon Flower
Palace can be placed. Although conditions can be obtained from
Geostones, they will be locked & you get "????". You can get your clues
from the pictures found at the foyer. At the foyer, there are a total of
8 pictures where you can view them from Georama menu via Pictures column
after you have viewed the actual pictures.
v) Additional Notes
`````````````````````````````````````````````
There are a few points that you take note of:-
- Polyn Points are necessary for Georama building. Every object has
a fixed amount of polyn points. When being placed, the area's polyn
point decreases. Once an area's polyn reaches zero, you cannot
place any more objects.
- You can paint on houses, buildings, fences, etc. Larger objects such
as houses requires more paint. Paint can be bought from Parn.
- Certain objects can be only build once. E.g. the Generator for Heim
Rada.
- A house can only resides one person. Each support character has his/
her own preferences. Once an house is unoccupied, you will find a
signboard that states "Vacant House".
- You can buy Georama Materials from Conda (most), Morton (till
Chapter 8), Borneo, Rufio, Aunt Polly (ingredients only) & Gordon.
Walkthrough & Secrets
-----------------------------------------------
Prelude
``````````
The game begins with a girl being chased after by a group of enemy
soldiers. There will be a simple battle using the girl for the combat.
Defeat all monsters and the cutscene will flow to the present.
(There is a Save Point along the staircase where you can save your
game by making contact and hit X)
There will be few more cutscenes and Max seems to be late for the
circus! Talk to the usher at the entrance of Circus. Hit Square and
select the Circus Ticket from the item box. There will be a few more
cutscenes. You need to get back your ticket...
Talk to everyone in the area except for the clown. Go and find a girl
near the balloons cart. Talk to her and it will trigger a cutscene. Max
will eventually recovers the ticket. Present the ticket and you will be
allowed to be admitted into the circus.
There will be a few more cutscenes and it will marks the beginning of
Chapter 1.
Chapter 1
````````````````````
To The Outside World!
=============================================
* These medal conditions will only appear after you have unlock them by
playing through the game.
Sewer Entrance
````````````````
There will be a couple of cutscenes between Max and Donny. You will be
given some time to take a breather or you can just talk to Donny & ask
him about the underground sewer. Eventually, Max gets his ranged
weapon - Classic Gun and a Help Receiver.
Once you are done, proceed down the ladder and head for the sewers.
Choose "Yes" to proceed to the next floor. By the way, you can activate
the save menu with Triangle button & return back to the Sewer Entrance
(where Donny is) with Square button
_____
/ \
| #1-1 | To The Outside World
\_____/``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Here comes the dungeon part of Dark Cloud games. First of all, make
sure you view the in-game help regarding dungeons. Donny will call
Max and tells him on the requirements to clear this floor.
Just simply wack the enemies with your gun and wrench. You should have
no difficulties. Once the weapon levels up, do not hestiate to perform
This area is a bit more tricky due to flying enemies. For flying
enemies, I recommend you to use Max's right-hand weapon - the gun to
shoot them down. You can also hurl crates by pick them up with R1 and
X and hit X to throw. If a crate hits a target, most of the enemies
will be stunned. Thus allow you to unleash a combo where enemy is left
unguarded and giving you a easier item.
_____
/ \
| #1-3 | Ghost in The Channel
\_____/```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
There is a new feature available - you will find a Channel Key from
the chests in the dungeon. Channel Key allows you to excess the locked
area in the current dungeon. The usage is the same as the Gate Key.
Cedric has come to Max's rescue with a machine - Ridepod. However due
to some technical faults, Max has to retreat...
Palm Brinks
``````````````
You will be back at the Repair Shop. Cedric tells Max that he will be
paying the Mayor a visit while the task of making an Energy Pack for
Ridepod is up to Max's hands. You will be taught on how to use the
camera and Make Menu. Besides the camera, you will also receive
another key item - Inside Scoops Memo.
TIP: Always equip the camera on Max's item holder. There are some
important photo shots that can only BE TAKEN ONCE.
Once you get the photos, return back the Repair Shop. Talk to Cedric.
Follow Cedric's instruction and navigate around the Make Menu. Now you
have the idea & it is time to make the Energy Pack by getting
materials for it. You need to visit Morton's Sundries (next to the
door, you will find a pumpkin). Cedric will supplment you with 350
Glidas (the currency for the game)
* Donny who sells items is no longer selling them. If you visit Donny
at the Sewer Entrance (via accessing the manhole located on the right
of the Repair Shop), he will provide you with more scoops. There is
also a mini treasure chest containing the Fruit of Eden. This item
boosts Max's MAX Hit Points by 8.
Once you have purchased the materials & save your game at the Repair
Shop and talk to Cedric. Follow the steps and select "Energy Pack"
from Invention List. There will be a few more cutscenes and Max will
be bought back to the Pump Room with Steve the Ridepod!
Strategy
`````````
You begin the battle with Max riding the Ridepod. Depress L3 button (
left analog stick) to switch to Max. Note that you cannot damage Linda
with Max's weapons. Your objective is to nap the photo shot with Max.
Linda seldom uses that attack but it seems to me that you can force
her to use it by wacking on the elephant's hind legs. Take the shot
at a comfort zone as Linda can do a rather heavy damage on Max.
Therefore, it is advisble to stock up Bread prior to the battle.
Linda's has only 2 attacks, the tusk whip and vertical hind stomp.
You can actually drive Ridepod forward and whip up the boss with its
cannonball punches ^_^:). If you did not take the photo shot, it is
advisible to restart this game.
After you have defeated the boss, proceed down the walkway and exit
the Ridepod. Examine the door and you will be able to move out of the
area.
The battles are getting tougher. In this dungeon, you will encounter
Vanguard (a robot) which can only be defeated by Ridepod. You can
switch between Max and Ridepod by depressing R3 button (right analog
stick). While riding the Ridepod, its fuel will start to deplete as
you move. To refuel, you need to get out of the battlefield and visit
Cedric to refuel or use an item called Ridepod Fuel (obtained from
braking crates or chests, which is random).
_____
/ \
| #1-6 | Sweet, Scary Treasure Chest
\_____/```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Upon exiting the dungeon, visit Cedric's shop for refuel. At the
entranceway of Cedric's Repair Shop, near the trash cans, you can
find a mini-chest containing Potato Pie (increases Max's defense by
4). Head left from the Save Point and you will find another chest
containing the Fruit of Eden (raises max HP by 8) near the wooden
crates. Make some preparations as a boss fight is coming soon...
Strategy
`````````
This boss fight is relatively easy except for getting the Scoop.
Switch to Max. The boss will fire red balloons (i.e. bombs), which can
be grab and hurl towards the enemy. It will cause the boss to fall and
you can switch to Ridepod quickly for a quick attack!
If you fight the battle for a while, the boss will unleashes Flotsam
Balloon which has its own HP and Rage Counter. Defeat them with Max.
Please note that the vehicle can shift from left and right. Just lob
the bomb at the boss. You just need three hits to finish off Flotsam.
There will be some more cutscenes and you will meet up with the red-
haired boy who turns to be Monica, a woman from the Future. She will
be part of your party...
Chapter 2
````````````````````
Resurrection of the Great Elder
=====================================================================
You will be given more introduction about Monica and you will get 5
Armband Repair Powder for her armlet. To switch between Max and
Monica, just depress the L3 button (left analog). Please note that
you cannot switch from Ridepod to Monica. Anyway, the diagram below
could help you to understand more about the L3 and R3 buttons more:-
You have reach Sindain, the town of the Firbits and great tree,
Jurak. However the origin point has been destroyed and you need the
help of Firbits. You are now currently at Sindain Station.
The Non-playable characters (NPCs) that have joined your party are:-
1) Cedric - Repairs weapons, arm, refuel and make Ridepod's parts
2) Erik - Sell you gunpowder and make bombs
3) Bruno - Sell you ores and increase item aquisitions
Cedric in my opinion, will be currently your best NPC for the time
being as having the ability to repair and refuel during dungeons.
Erik could make you super bombs - which does 100+ damage to target!
You can create 6 of these bombs and sell them for 900 Glidas - an easy
option for quick money in the game. Please note as you spent the
ability points, you need to sent them back to the train for them to
recover (it takes some game time). To get back Palm Brinks (more
places are being accessible), use the Move Feature. I will discuss
more about in the later part of the walkthrough.
Away from the train, you can find a Save Point and a path that leads
to Sindain.
Sindain
````````````````````````````
There are a lot of boulders, logs and trees in the vicinity. There is
a Firbit's House and a Firbit. Attempt to enter the house and there
will be a few more cutscenes. From the scenes, you will need to do
the following objectives at the dungeon: Rainbow Butterfly Woods:-
Conda will give you a key item - Grape Juice, which will be essential
for you to locate their lost friends.
_____
/ \
| #2-1 | Frightening Forest
\_____/```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
None
For the first time, you will be able to use Monica. You can also use
Max and Ridepod. Monica is a great attacker with her Magic Bessard,
that has the ability to use magic. Magic has a homing capability,
which makes Monica an easier character to use. Man-Eating Grass and
Himarra has the ability to launch projectile weapons that could also
cause status ailments along with some damage. Dodge these attacks
and close up for a quick strike. Skeleton Soldiers are weak against
Holy while plants are weak against Flame damage.
TIP:
Gain some experience for Ridepod (with at least 600 EXP). Purchase
the Barrel Cannon for Ridepod, which is extremely useful for this
area.
_____
/ \
| #2-2 | Strange Tree
\_____/```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Before you begin, there will be a tip from Monica regarding Weapon
Upgrading (you should know more since you have read the guide...) and
you will be given the following bonuses:-
The enemies here are getting tougher. Pumpkinhead has the ability to
use fire magic which can be absorb by using Monica's absorption sword.
(See Part II for more details). Moler has the tendency to go
undergound and you can only hit them once they have revealed
themselves. The hardiest enemy is Tore which could summon Kotore (that
self-explodes upon touching your characters). Wipeout the enemies with
Ridepod's Barrel Cannon if you have it.
Build up Monica's Weapon for more Smash attributes because you will
need it later...
_____
/ \
| #2-3 | Rolling Shells RED SEAL
This is the first seal condition. The Red seal means that you can
only use Monica. Max and Ridepod will be inaccessible unless you
Attack and defeat all enemies in the area.
The enemies here are the same except for the Tortoise. The tortoise
is relatively strong and you use of the skills mentioned in Part II
of the FAQ. You need to do backflip to avoid being hit by the
tortoise's headbutt attack. It is nearly impossible to satisfy the
wipeout goal with Monica's magic... There is a 2nd method to defeat
the tortoise, make use of the boulders found in the area and throw
it at the enemy. It will cause the tortoise to be dizzy.
_____
/ \
| #2-4 | Great Fish Swamp
\_____/```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
There are no monsters here but a couple of quests that you need to
fulfill. At the entranceway, there is a Save Point where you could
save your game. Finally, Max & Monica have met up with the remaining
Firbits. The one that is fishing say that he cannot abandon his
friends there. That Firbit will say that he smells something good and
ask you for something. Give him the Grape Juice. In exchange, he
provides with a Fishing Rod and a bait (Mimi). Yeah, you can start to
fish! Refer to Part IV for details about Fishing.
Head north & go past the bridge. There will be a swamp there. Facing
the swamp, move left from there and go across the boulders. You will
be a pathway to a monster. A cutscene will follow and you find out
that the monster (Master Utan) that a fish has caused the Firbit to
behave weirdly. Take out your camera and take a shot of Master Utan
for "#30 Master Utan Scoop". You will get 4x Poison Apple to your
inventory.
Now head for the swamp (without the fishing rod) & a cutscene will
follow. Monica suggest to Max to fish the thingy out. Since the "Holy
One" likes Poison Apples, equip the fishing rod and Poison Apple as
your bait. Once you see the red exclaimation mark, hit L3 and a
cutscene will occur
Once you caught the "Holy One", you will learnt that King Mardan (
which the Holy One is known as) wants you to catch a Priscleen Fish
to clean his body. Before leaving the Holy One, take out your camera
and take a picture of it - "#33 King Mardan Scoop". THIS IS ONLY TIME
YOU CAN TAKE THE SCOOP!
Priscleen breeds in clean pond. Equip the fishing rod & a bait (Mimi).
Cast your reel where you can find lilies growing on the pond. If you
lose the bait, you can get 5 more Mimi from the fishing Firbit. To
fish, just hit X to cast the reel and wait for the red exclaimation
mark to appear. Hit L3 (left analog stick) once you saw the sign.
You enter into the fishing mode. Once in fishing mode, hit X to reel
in and left analog stick based on the direction the arrows is
pointing. For more details, refer to Part IV.
take a photo of it, make sure you do it as it is the LAST chance that
you have. Give the Priscleen as you use Gate Keys in dungeons.
Head for the Firbit's House. You will come to know about Holly and
mysterious Rainbow Butterfly. Thus, you need to achieve an aim - save
The key point is not about Georama System but the Time Gate. There is
a red portal located near the Withered Jurak Tree. Move your character
over the portal and there will be cutscene of Max using his jewel to
teleport to 100 years in the future. At the future (Jurak Mall), you
will find a Firbit there. There are 2 tiny chests containing the Fruit
of Eden & a Potato Pie in the region. Please note that places in
future contains power-up items for your character. Make sure you visit
them after fulfilling conditions under Analysis section of Georama
Menu.
- Objects: Wooden House, Iron Chimney, Thorn Tree, Wooden Stand,
Wooden Stairs, River.
- "Forest Lake restored" Condition
- "Glowing Mushrooms" Condition
There are a few new things included the dungeons. A new condition
has been made available - Fishing Goal. To satisfy the fishing goal,
you need to defeat all enemies and fish at a water source. If the
fish caught is longer than 50 cm (for this dungeon), you will get
the medal.
Besides the Fishing Goal, other things are associated with Georama
System comes to place. You will find chests containing Georama
materials more often than previously. There is a new indicator, the
Geostone marked by a purple dot on the radar. Get this and you will
unlock new objects buildable and conditions to satisfy for Georama
System. There is 2 new monsters here - Moler and Face of Prajna.
Watch for Molers as it is rather hard to hit with Ridepod. Molers
has the ability to drill underground and you hit them if their head
is above the land...
Sindain
Exit the dungeon and head for Sindain. You will be given more
tutorials from Conda about Georama. You will be given more materials
Himarra and get Sundrops by using her transformed form and talk to
another Himarra in dungeons 2-1, 2-2 and 2-6. The Lafrescia Seed and
Sundrops are essential to make the Rainbow Butterfly appear:-
After getting 4th Geostone, you will get a cutscene about Max saying
to get someone who knew about trees - Gordon if you proceed to
Visit the house and you can find a Save Point there. Gordon will be
standing near a tree in the garden. He says that he is feeling uneasy
and request for some Holy Water. Give it to him if you have it in
your inventory or you can buy it from Priest Bruno at the Church.
Gordon will join your party as a support character!
Step 2
-------
Restoring the Forest Lake
--> Make the river at least fifteen units or more.
Build 20 units of River with Water Element. Place a lake of 5x3 grid
in the middle of the land. For the remaining 5 units, wait first...
Visit the future and you can get a Fruit of Eden, a Witch's Parafait
& Potato Pie.
Step 3
-------
Restoring the Glowing Mushrooms
- Plant at least ten trees.
Step 4
-------
Restoring the Withered Tree
- Place Eye Tree 1 & Eye Tree 2 on near the lake.
- Place Nose Tree between Eye Tree 1 & Eye Tree 2.
- Surround the all three trees by a river.
The three significant trees must be placed in line with each one in
a line.
Remember the previous 5 units of river that I tell you to place? You
need to get them circling these 3 trees. You will find 2 Fruit of
Eden and a Witch Parafait in the future.
Step 5
-------
Revive Elder Jurak
- The Withered Tree must be restored.
- The Forest Lake must be restored.
- Gordon resides in Sindain.
You must satisfy step 2 and step 4 conditions. Build a wooden house or
a straw hut above the hill and place that house near one of the trees.
Switch to character mode. Move towards the house and attempt enter,
you will be given an option of moving people in... Move Gordon in!
How?
Visit the future. You will be able to access to the Tailor Shop and you
will get to purchase the Floral Badge for 500 Glidas. Get it. Now with
the badge, Monica can transform into a Himarra! For more details about
Monster Transformation, please refer Part II.
Now proceed to a dungeon where you can find a Himarra (a plant with
yellow petals). Dungeons are Floor 2-1, 2-2 and 2-6. Transform Monica
into a Himarra and talk to Himarra. It will give you Sundrops. To
transform (make sure you are using Monica) depress the R3 button.
As you complete more Georama Conditions, make sure you visit the
future, you will find more Fruits of Eden/Witch Witch's Parfait/Potato
Pie, which boosts the characters' HP and defense. These items will be
found scattered in future which also applies for other completions.
At the center of the Falls, you will find a pond where Max felt that
he should drop something on it... Drop the Lafrescia Seed and Sundrops
to make Lafrescia Flower bloom. Take a picture from the bottom for
"#34 Lafrescia Stem Scoop". Examine the white thread and it will
automatically trigger a cutscene with the Rainbow Butterfly!
Strategy
`````````
First of all, you will not be able to attack the Rainbow Butterfly
when it is merged as one. The Rainbow Butterfly comprises of 7
butterflies - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
As the flower is the source of power for the butterfly, hit the
flower's tentacles to force it to close. Meanwhile watch out for the
Rainbow Butterfly's beam and crystal ball attacks, which could cause
status ailments.
Once you are done, the Rainbow Butterfly will proceed to the center
of the flower and split into 7 smaller butterflies. To defeat the
boss through you need to defeat them one by one. Monica is a good
option for the boss likewise for Ridepod, if you have the Barrel
Cannon. Any running, gunshot & weapons slashing sounds will alarm
the butterflies. I suggest that you hit the violet butterfly first.
The butterflies will fly back to center spot of the flower & do
their convergence again. Take a shot and you will get Scoop #53!
This is ONLY TIME that you can take the PHOTO SCOOP!
Sindain
----------
There will be a cutscene between our heroes and the Firbits at the
house. A sad story...
Make your way to Jurak and you will be notified off a great sage
named Crest who resides in Starlight Temple built at the Balance
Valley. However, the origin point has been destroyed too...
Once you are done, you can talk to Cedric to proceed to Balance
Valley, a new dungeon.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Additional Steps for Georama Conditions - 100% for Sindain
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
These steps are optional but you can get better goodies if you do
these. There will be a cutscene where you get Jurak Gun for Max, which
will be very useful for future battles. To get that, you need to
complete 100% for the Georama Conditions. You can also get a scoop
photo by taking a picture of all three stores - #26 "Hmm... Jurak"
Scoop
To recruit a new person, that means you need to build a new house. Make
a Wooden House. Now proceed to Palm Brinks. Talk to Aunt Polly. He will
ask you to deliver 20x Crunchy Bread to Morton. Visit Morton at
Morton's Sundries (the one marked with a pumpkin logo). He will ask you
to make a trip to his house at the residence area. There will be a
garden of pumpkins within his house area. Examine the door, there will
be a note for him from Ferdinand. Talk to him and Morton say that you
can return the Crunchy Breads to Polly as the party is called off.
Visit Polly and she will join you! By the way, a new assistant will be
taking charge of the Bakery in Palm Brinks.
Return back to Sindain and place Polly inside the house. Gain 40 more
Culture Points by doing some fence and painting. I recommend you to
make the Watermill near the "lake", some pots, cart, shed near the
houses.
Step 8
-------
Restoring Elder Jurak's Branch
- At least 10 trees need to be planted.
- Place a fence around the Firbits' House.
You need a lot of Rolling logs for these. Make use of the wooden gate
so that you can make an opening for you to access the Firbits' house.
Once you make a fence around, there will be branch that leads to the
upper floor of Jurak at Jurak Mall (future).
Step 9
--------
Restoring the Golden Eggs
- Elder Jurak's Branch must be restored.
- Place a resident inside of a Straw House.
Undoubtly, you have satisfied this condition because you have placed
Adel inside the Straw House. Just simply go up the golden eggs and you
will get Golden Paint, which is essential to recruit Parn! Get Parn to
join in by visiting his house. There is a ladder in his house that
leads to an area where you can get 10x Purple Paint. Give Parn the
Golden Paint. He and his "wife" - Julia will join your party! You can
purchase new paint from Parn! You can get a photo scoop "#25 Find the
Golden Egg! Scoop"
Step 10
--------
Restoring the Weapon Shop
- Elder Jurak must be revived.
Most of the conditions have been satisfied already except you need to
get Milane to reside in Sindain. Milane is located at the Weapon Shop.
Visit her and switch to Monica. She will give you a Gladius and ask
you to build up the weapon by 2 levels. The weapon should undergo
the following process:-
Once you are done, place Monica inside a wooden house near other
houses. She dislike staying alone. Once you are done, revisit Jurak
Mall (future). There is a chest near the ladder leading to the Eatery
containing the Garnet Jewel.
Balance Valley
-----------------
Once you are done, proceed to Balance Valley Station. There is a
Save Point in the area. Move across the bridge and head for left of
the deserted station - You will be able to access the plateau. There
is a house near the area. Enter the house. You will find an owl along
with a girl (Lin) who is very sick. Max told the owl that there is a
doctor that resides in Palm Brinks. Proceed to Dell's Clinic which is
on the left area of the Church. Enter the Clinic and Dr. Dell will
join your party! Return back to the house, Dr. Dell will says that no
medicine could cure the girl's illness. Monica says that there is a
legendary cook called "Lau Chao" who resides in Starlight Temple's
Lao Chao's Bistro who could make a "Miracle Dish" that could cure Lin.
Chapter 3

The Sage Who Become a Star
=====================================================================
At the beginning of the chapter, you will come know more about
Balance Valley. There is a lot of difficulty in placing objects for
Georama as you need to balance out all the 4 plateaus. Make use of
Georama mode to move your cursor near the save point north off
Lin's house. From the save point, head further north and you are
heading towards the game's dungeon - Starlight Canyon.
If you want, I recommend you to collect some badges for Monica. More
details can be found under Part II - Dungeon Basics.

All the monsters here use range attacks and you need to use the Fwd +

Wonder why this place is called Balance Valley? The place is divided
into 4 plateaus. The plateaus must be balance in order to resume any

If the weight for 1 plateau is too heavy, the whole plateau will be
lower than other 3 plateaus. Get the idea?
Return to Balm Brinks. You need to recruit Ferdinand and Stewart. Both
of them can be found in Max's house. Save up 2000 Glidas and a Roasted

You should be fight this battle as Max. Shingala has two attacks -
head swing which could knock Max off his feet and Frost Breath. Frost
Breath is a range weapon that does heavy damage. Take a photo of
Shingala with the mind-controlled device. Once you got that, pay
attention to the battlefield. There is a yellowish object floating
around the area right? That's the fish that you have fed with
Electric Worm. Just attack Shingala (do not kill, the game will be
over if you do that) and wait for its head to fall on the position
that you can throw the fish into its mouth. Once it is stunned, grab

Once Donny joins you, place him inside the blue iron house. Once you

There will be a cutscene when you enter the 2nd lab (blue lab). You
will meet up with another scientist (Dr Nobbs). He will give you the

the ability to cause poison with its tail. As an aquatic creature,
the Sea Dragon is weak against lightning. Make use of Ridepod. You
actually use the same strategy that you use for Lapis Garter.

Stronger enemies encounter here. Red Fox are pretty hard to handle

Like the previous floor, this one is also quite hard to fight.
Watch out for King Mimics and deal it by using Ridepod. If you
managed to get to this, save your game!
It carries a nasty sword and deal incredibly fast sword swings with
it. The best battle is to make use of Ridepod (again) and flying in
circles like what you did to the other sub-bosses.

Palace of Flowers
=====================================================================
Well, you are coming to the end of story for Dark Cloud 2. This
"last" chapter will provide the essential bits and trillers about
this whole game. At the Moon Flower Palace Stop, you will find the
Ixion along with Osmond. You can still return back to previous areas
to collect your medals, purchase upgrade materials, etc.
Upon entering the Palace, Max and Monica will meet with a mysterious
lady - Princess Alexandra, the true owner of the Palace and Griffon's
real name - Sirus. You need to restore the Palace back to its
original state so that you help Sirus regain back his original
self...
The garden yard will be Georama area for your placing of objects. The
foyer located inside the palace will be the place where you can find
power-up gifts from your dedication to Georama. Unlike previous
Georama conditions, this chapter's conditions have been locked. You
can find some clues from the paintings in the foyer. Please note that
you cannot place other Georama objects on this area. For the Georama
building map, it is somewhere within this part of the walkthrough.
There are 2 save points in the dungeon - one at the yard while the
other one in front of gate to Moon Flower Palace Dungeon.

have a hard time for this floor. Rock Taster (improved version of

work well against them. Stormy is an advanced version of Burger from
Mount Gundor.

easy to defeat the enemies found here. If you want to feel safe, use

BOSS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Master of Darkness
Emperor Griffon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The fight against Griffon can be divided into 3 separate battles...
Do this until you have reduced Griffon's life to 1/2. This is followed
by some cutscenes...
Once you reduce its life to 1/4, there will be more scenes...
Upon defeating Mammo, just continue to make your way up the endless
pathway - this reminds me of Final Fantasy X Omega Ruins...
Keep on moving and you meet up Dark Element. After some cutscenes, you
will be fighting the "final boss" of Dark Cloud 2:-
I have faced a gameover here and need to restart this whole fight right
from Griffon... Make sure you take the photo of the falling moon. For
this battle, you need to rely A LOT on Max and Monica. You will be
given a time limit of 5 minutes to defeat him...
When the boss' HP is near death, the core will emit a glowing light. The
conditions will change. When the core is red, only melee attacks work
while when the core is blue only range attacks work. Keep up the
endurance and you will be able to defeat the boss within the time limit.
Finally, you will be granted with some pleasant story telling and the
ending credits will roll. Monica will depart along with Elena and Agrias
back to the future. Wait for the words "The End" to be shown...

Chapter 8
The Forgotten Adventure
At the start of the chapter, you will find Maximillian meeting up the Mayor. They are intending to reconstruct the Blackstone
Railroad. However, you need to find some Zelmite located at the Zelmite Mines. The entrance to the mine can be found near the
monument in Palm Brinks. You can also access it via the map selector. Before I carry on, there is something that you need to take
note of:
- You cannot access to Kaznov Stonehenge & Moon Flower Palace dungeons anymore.
- You cannot access to the future as Max does not possess the Atlamillia anymore. Monica will not be in your party anymore...
- Make sure that you have an album saved file so that you can store 2 important photos.
- You will find Max carrying a golden pendant instead.
