There are many solutions to protect our environment. First of all, we should reduce, reuse and recycle.

Instead of using plastic bags, we can use leaves to wrap food. We can recycle plastic bottles, cans, paper to
reduce garbage. Secondly, using public transports and decreasing the number of motorbikes and cars are also
good ways to reduce carbonic in the air. Thirdly, we should plant more trees. As you know, they give off
oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide, which makes the air cleaner. Finally, the government should propagandize
about protecting the environment to everybody so that they can aware of it. Especially, we need to punish
people who contaminate the environment with great severity. In conclusion, the earth is our home so
protecting it is everyone's responsibility.

areas bring me the peace and comfort, which is good for my health. Living here
helps me avoid the noise from vehicles such as motorbikes or cars and traffic jam
at the rush hour. Secondly, people in the countryside are very friendly and helpful.
They are willing to help each other when having difficulties. Finally, the cost of
living in the country is lower than that in the city. The price of goods is cheaper, so
we can find it easy to live here. In short, I want to live and work in the countryside
because of the above advantages.

I would like to live in the city because of some reasons. Firstly, if we live
here, we will have many chances to access science and modern technology. It
means that we will have more job opportunities with higher salaries and get good
education easily. Secondly, people in urban areas have many different ways to
relax after a hard - working day. There are many kinds of entertainment here such
as cinemas, shopping mall, museums and parks. Finally, a big city is a potential
market for trading activities, so we can earn more money to provide our family a
comfortable life. In short, I want to live and work in the city because of its
advantages.

people. He was born on May 19th 1890 in Nghe An province in a well-educated
family. Uncle Ho knew different languages in the world. He used to work as a
cook, a waiter and a tutor. He was also a famous poet with the poems “Diary in
prison”, which is very valuable. Uncle Ho devoted his whole life to the
independence of Vietnam. He died in Ha Noi on September, 2nd, 1969 but he is
always in every Vietnamese’s memory. In short, I love and respect him very
much, and we always remind ourselves “Live, fight, work and study following
great Uncle Ho’s example”.

2/ My hobby is reading books. I started my hobby at the age of ten. I usually read books in my
free time or during break time to relax. I like reading books because they give me not only
knowledge but also entertainment. I can also learn about many places, their people and
cultures, and from that we can relieve stress after a hard- working day. My favorite genre is
history. I love learning about people in the past, and I want to become a historian when I’m
older. I hope that I will have my own library in the future. In short, I love books very much and
perhaps, I couldn’t live without them.
There are four people in my family: my parents, my younger sister and I. Every member
in my family shares the household chores equally. My dad is responsible for mending things
around the house and cleaning the bathroom twice a week. My mum does the cooking and
grocery shopping. Being the elder child in the family, I also help my mother with housework. I
do the laundry, take out the rubbish, and mop the living room once a week. My younger
sister’s responsibilities include helping my mum to prepare meals and washing the dishes. My
sister and I take turns laying the table for meals and sweeping the house. In short, we do our
share of housework willingly, which makes my family happier.

Everyone has different tastes and I also have a hobby. My hobby is collecting souvenirs.
I stated this hobby 3 years ago when I had a trip to Da Nang with my family. I really love it
because I can save unique things in my collection called “Memory box”. I just spent about
1.000.000 VND for souvenirs I bought from my trip. I spend 5 hours a week on this hobby.
The best thing about collecting souvenirs is it really inspires my creativity. People who like to
save lovely things would enjoy it. In short, I love souvenir very much and I hope that I will
have a big collection in the future.

Everyone has different tastes and I also have a hobby. My hobby is gardening. I started
my hobby 3 years ago. I really like it because I can do it with my family. My family can join in
and do something together. We usually spend an hour on Sunday morning in our garden. I need
some plants, gloves, pots and soil to do my hobby. Gardening has many benefits. It helps me
become more patient and responsible. Besides, I also learn about flowers, fruits, vegetables,
insects and bugs. Gardening can help us to protect our environment. In short, I love gardening
very much and I hope that our family has a beautiful garden in the future.

Everyone has different tastes and I also have a hobby. My hobby is reading books. My
love for books started at the age of ten years old when I was awarded a book by my
grandfather. It is the first book that I have seen. I do not know how many times I read it.
I usually read books in my free time or during break time to relax. I love reading books
because they give me not only knowledge but also entertainment. I can also learn about
faraway places, together with their people and cultures, and from that we can also get

Write a paragraph (100-120 words) about a problem you have at school or at home.
My friend – Mai confided a secret to me when we went out for a drink. She told me about
her new boyfriend. He betrayed her and she got upset. Then, I went to another friend’s house –
Hoa. She asked me about Mai’s new boyfriend and I told her the whole story. One day, Emily
met Alisa and asked how she and her boyfriend were then. And Mai got angry with me, she
said I broke my promise and she broke up with me. I tried to apologize to her but she did not
accept my apology. She said she would never forgive me. I wish I had not told her story for
Emily. How can I make her forgive me?
Hoa is my close friend. Two weeks ago, she confided a secret to me. She told me she was
unhappy and lonely because her boyfriend betrayed her. After then, I told it to one of my
classmates - Linh with the hope that she had more useful advice to help Hoa. Then this
classmate shared it with the others. As a result, Hoa’s secret spread. Hoa got angry with me
and she said I broke my promise and she broke up with me. I tried to apologize to her but she
did not accept my apology. She said she would never forgive me.
I wish I had not told her story for Linh. How can I make her forgive me?

Last Monday, I had a discussion in group at my house. I and my friends were discussing
maths problems when my dad came home. He looked shocked when he saw Mai's dyed hair
and ripped jeans. After the group meeting, Dad told me that I should stop being friends with
her. He said a good student should not dye his hair and should dress properly. I think Dad is
unreasonable. He should not judge my friends by their looks. Mai is one of the best students in
my class, but she wants to look modern and fashionable. I can't stop being friends with
someone just because my father doesn't like them. I wish Dad stopped judging my friends by
their appearances. How can I make him understand this?

1/ Every family has its own rules. Mine has a few. (There are many rules in my family). One
important rule in my family is that my brother and I must be at home before 10 p.m. My
parents set a curfew because they fear that I may be in danger when I walk alone outside at
night. Another important rule is frankness. All members have to be honest so that we can
believe in each other. The final rule in my family is that we have to study hard. My parents will
be upset if we get bad marks. They always hope that we’ll have good jobs in the future.
Despite the strict rules, we all feel comfortable and safe because we know that our parents
always want the best things for us.
