Procedure to run MPHP ‘A’ motor to verify direction of rotation

and mark-up magnetic centre on Rotor shaft

Pre-start corrections, checks and test;
 Worn-off paint on stator to be re-applied
 Main cable leads to be properly bolted with correct torque
 Earthing connections verified to be equipotential across; from VSD to motor segment
 IR and PI test verified ok

Pre-start - condition of motor;

 Motor to be uncoupled from compressor and loose bolting remove
 Motor sensor/probes to be installed and connected to auxiliary control/monitoring JB
 Motor end-shields and bearing enclosures and temperature probes to be installed

Pre-start actions;
 Every work platforms/tarpaulin that will obscure proper motor ventilation to be dismantled temporarily
 At DE side, push shaft towards stator and mark.
 Also push shaft towards coupling and mark; in order to ascertain clearance area for vibration probe installation
 De-isolation of Main HV supply cell, LV pre-charge incomer and other auxiliary & control

Motor drive main components

Note: VSD cooling unit go on fault, after more than 3days of stoppage (because water conductance reaches alarm and
trip set points (1.5 and 1.9 micro-Siemens respectively). Normal value should be 0.6 micro-Siemens.
In this condition VSD cooling motor must be started manually using P80i software
VSD Cooling motor manual startup procedure

1. Push the emergency button of VSD you want to start cooling motor
2. Connect Ethernet cable to Laptop
a. VSD A & B has similar Controller IP is same (10.19.62.250)

3. Check Connectivity from controller to Laptop

a. Go to windows start – Click Run – Ping 10.19.62.250 -t – click Ok

4. Open P80i

5. Go to File – select Program path

6. Right Click to Open CPU – Open MV7000 – Open Task T02 – Open document (3) Wago DOutput (Common)
7. Click inside documents – Click Online button

8. Go to Online
9. Left Click on variable O00101 – Select Override see the below picture
10. Double click on variable O00101(Make High) to Start cooling motor

11. Cooling Pump motor will run – Continue to run Up to 15 Minutes – check conductance go down below 1.0 micro
Siemens in the cooling unit

12. Double click on variable O00101 (Make Low) to stop cooling motor
13. Remove override

14. Go to Offline - Close the P80i

15. Close P80i – Reset the Drive & Start the VSD using the following process;
- 1) Rotation way verification
- 1.1) Starts auxiliaries.
- 1.2) Check VSD insulation
- 1.3) Run and offset compensation sequence (reboot the CPU with the DC Bus switch grounded)
- 1.4 Restart auxiliaries
- 1.5) Clear the Alarms and check that TrigMV7612_28GS3121A_B.per is started via “monipert” (this pertu is
already on your maintenance PC).
- 1.6) Start the VSD from the UCP or locally with the stand by (with a speed reference from UCP).
- 1.7) When the motor starts to turn (at low speed mark the magnetic centre on rotor shaft) stop the sequence
with an emergency Stop after few turn
- 1.8) This will trip the main CB and trigger a new pertu.
- 1.9) On the motor check the rotation sign is correct (isolate machine again to correct rotation if necessary)
- 1.10) In the pertu verify the DC bus pre-charge is complete and the VSD feed-back are correct.
- 1.11) Check the few alarms on VSD control and reset.
- 1.12) Proceed to coupling motor.

2) Parameter to monitor during speed up (commissioning):

2.1) Start manually the following pertu: OnStream_MV7612_28GS3121A_B.pert attached Start = green arrow in
the tool bar may make stop manually by Stop command.
(Save as; with the floppy and rename the pertu, perform 3 records Prechagre, 60% Speed, 90% speed)

3) Preliminary checks, and preventive maintenance:

- 3.1) Visual inspection Heat points, Cable heads, DC Buc capacitors, water cooling unit leakages, measurement
cables integrity from transducer to the VSD control.
- 3.2) Rectifier Diodes bridge and RC measure and checks
- 3.3) Inverter IEGB and RC measure and gate drive power supply.
- 3.4) IEGT pulse test visual.
- 3.4) Dv/dt filter RC measure and connections check.
