Paraphrase là gì?

Paraphrase là viết lại một câu nào đó THEO CÁCH KHÁC, để TRÁNH LỖI ĐẠO VĂN và
thể hiện khả năng sử dụng ngôn ngữ linh hoạt của riêng mình.

=> Đây cũng là cách để chúng mình "HỌC" văn mẫu, "MƯỢN" ý tưởng, chứ không
"ĐẠO", không "COPY" văn mẫu nhé.

Ví dụ:

Bài mẫu có câu: "As we sailed through the placid channels off Chile’s mid-Pacific
coast, all was silent."

Hãy viết lại thành: "As we navigated through Chile’s coastline, it was very peaceful."

=> Câu số 2 miêu tả cùng một sự việc, cùng 1 cảm nhận với câu 1, nhưng dùng từ
đồng nghĩa chứ ko COPY nguyên mẫu

=> Thế là chúng mình đã "mượn" ý tưởng thành công mà không bị lỗi "đạo văn" rồi đó.

VẬY PARAPHRASE THẾ NÀO?

Mình giới thiệu trong post này 5 cách paraphrase như sau:

CÁCH 1: SỬ DỤNG TỪ ĐỒNG NGHĨA

Cách dễ nhất để paraphrase là sử dụng từ đồng nghĩa các bạn nhé.

Khi dùng cách này:

- Cấu trúc câu được giữ y nguyên, nhưng hãy thay các danh từ, động từ, tính từ...
bằng từ đồng nghĩa!

Ví dụ 1.1.

Câu gốc: They hope to study broad.

> Dùng từ đồng nghĩa để viết lại câu: They wish to pursue a degree in a foreign country.

CÁC TỪ ĐỒNG NGHĨA ĐÃ SỬ DỤNG:

- hope = wish
- study = pursue a degree
- abroad = in a foreign country

Ví dụ 1.2.

Câu gốc: The U.S. government declared that the AIDS crisis poses a national security
threat.

> Dùng từ đồng nghĩa để viết lại câu: The government of the United States
announced that AIDS could harm the nation's security.

CÁC TỪ ĐỒNG NGHĨA ĐÃ SỬ DỤNG:

- U.S. government = The government of the United States

- declared = announced
- AIDS crisis = AIDS
- national security = nation's security
- poses a threat = could harm

CÁCH 2: THAY ĐỔI VỊ TRÍ CỦA CÁC THÀNH PHẦN TRONG CÂU

Ví dụ 2.1.

Câu gốc: The percentage of unemployed people in Western society has risen by 23%
in the last decade.

> Thay đổi trật tự các thành phần câu: In the last decade, the percentage of
unemployed people has risen by 23% in Western society.

CÁCH 3: THAY ĐỔI DẠNG CỦA TỪ

Ví dụ 3.1.

Câu gốc: The level of poverty in Africa has decreased remarkably since 2008.

> Thay đổi dạng của các từ khoá: The decrease in the poverty level has been
remarkable since 2008.

CÁC TỪ ĐÃ THAY ĐỔI CHỨC NĂNG

- has decreased (v) => the decrease

- the level of poverty => the poverty level (thay đổi cách thành lập noun phrase)
- remarkably (adv) => remarkable (adj)

Ví dụ 3.2.

Câu gốc: Environmental professor at the University of Reading, Maria Smiths claims
that global changes are impacting the spread of disease.

> Thay đổi dạng của các từ khoá: According to Maria Smiths, a professor of
environment at the University of Reading, changes across the globe are causing
diseases to spread.

- Environmental professor (adj + n) => a professor of environment (n phrase)

- global changes (adj + n) => changes across the globe (n phrase)

CÁCH 4: THAY ĐỔI CẤU TRÚC CÂU VÀ TỪ NỐI

Ví dụ:

Câu gốc: Although only about one-tenth of the world’s population lives there,
sub-Saharan Africa remains the hardest hit region, accounting for 72 percent of the
people infected with Corona virus during 2020.

> Thay đổi cấu trúc câu: Approximately 10 percent of the world’s population resides
in sub-Saharan Africa. However, this area of the world has the highest percentage
of Corona virus-related illnesses. In fact, in 2000, almost three-fourths of the
population had this kind of virus.

CẤU TRÚC VÀ TỪ NỐI ĐÃ THAY ĐỔI:

Câu gốc:

- Chỉ là 1 câu phức.

- Các mệnh để nối với nhau bằng ALTHOUGH và dấu phẩy

Paraphrase:

- Gồm 3 câu đơn

- Từ nối HOWEVER đặt giữa câu 1&2
- Từ nối IN FACT đặt giữa câu 2&3

CÁCH 5: THAY ĐỔI THỂ CHỦ ĐỘNG - BỊ ĐỘNG

Ví dụ 5.1.

Câu chủ động: A forest fire destroyed the whole suburb.

> Câu bị động: The whole suburb was destroyed by a forest fire.

Ví dụ 5.2:

Câu chủ động: Millions of tourists have visited the Eiffel Tower.

> Câu bị động: The Eiffel Tower has been visited by millions of tourists.
