was conducted last July 24-
28, 2017.

Masilang, Principal I, rendered
her opening remarks in
challenging the students to be
more responsible enough in
choosing their careers in the
future. She also shared her
experiences way back when
she was in the same situation
similar to the students who
had a hard time deciding their
future careers.
Consequently, the program
proper started with an
introductory information
about the program’s objective.
Since the National Career
Assessment Examination
(NCAE) results are not yet
released, Ms. Mary Jean
Camille C. Bayhon, Grade 10-
Newton Adviser, administered
an Interest Test consisting of
60-item questionnaire to test
the students most preferred
tasks, expertise and skills.
Through the said quiz, the
students had a grasp in which
their interest falls on the
following tracks and strands
such as Academic Tracks with
its strands Humanities and
Social Sciences (HUMSS),
Accountancy, Business and
Management (ABM), Science,
Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics (STEM) and
General Academics (GAS),
Technical-Vocational (TECH-
VOC) Track such as Home
Economics, Industrial Arts,
Information Technology and
Agri-Fishery, as well as, Sports
Track,and Arts and Designs
Track..
It was followed with the
viewing of the Department of
Education- Division of
Batangas K to 12 infomercial
for a thorough explanation of
the tracks and strands.
Question and Answer portion
was facilitated by Mr. Gerald E.
Gutierrez, Grade 10-Einstein
Adviser.
In addition, Mr. Don Carlo F.
Gollena, Grade 10-Galileo
Adviser, discussed the aligned
courses and careers that the
students may consider to
helped them to choose their
tracks in Senior High School
(SHS). To further ignite the
students enthusiasm to reach
their goals, the Guidance
Teacher shared the most
needed careers by the year
2020 onward. She also shared
the top careers which are most
paid as of this year. Further
clarification of the queries of
the students are executed and
clarified by the Principal and
the Guidance Teacher.
In preparation for the Part II
on Friday, July 28, 2017, the
students were grouped based
on their preferred tracks. With
this, three groups of HUMSS
were formed, while for STEM,
ABM, TECH-VOC, Arts and
Designs formed a group each.
Unfortunately, no one chose
the Sports Track. They
conducted their meeting by
group to prepare their banner
and attire for the culminating
activity.

PART II.
The culminating activity of career guidance
week started with a parade with students
wearing the costume of their chosen
profession/vocation. This was done for them to
feel the essence being a true professional.
Everyone looks stunning as they walk with
pride in their costumes.
After the parade a short program was held.
It started with an inspirational message form
Mrs. Rowena R. Masilang, Principal I of Bukal
National High School. In her words she
emphasized the importance of choosing the
right career path for everyone. She also said
that earning money should not be the main
factor in choosing course in college but rather
a person must feel that it suits his or her skills,
capabilities and should consider what you
really wanted to be in the future.
To add the inspiration, the school invited
some personalities who are known for being
successful in their fields. The first person to
speak was PSINSP Fernando O. Fernando. He
first show a music video dedicated for the
Police man. He then shared his story on how
he reached his goals in live. He said that
poverty is not a hindrance in achieving once
goal, a great example is he himself since he is
also a product of public schools.
The next speaker was Engineer Hazel D.
Reyes from the Engineering office of the
Municipality of Padre Garcia. She is an
Agricultural Engineer who wanted to
encourage the students to take the same path
as she is. She shared how important it is to
prioritize agriculture for it is the sector that is
known for being back bone of the economy.

He said that the students of today are very
lucky for having an orientation like career
guidance for it will help them to find the
right path to take unlike them during their
time that everything is up to them. He
opened the mind of the students that
accounting is not about mathematics
unlike how most people thought.
The last person to speak was another
alumnus of Bukal National High School, a
very humble man from Manggas, Padre
Garcia, He is Engineer Victor H. Pasia- Chief
Engineer in a Cargo shipping line. He
immediately noticed the group of students
who are wearing his kind of uniform. He
then explained that being a seaman isn’t
always a happy story. One huge sacrifice is
to leave the comfort of his home to earn
decently to support the needs of his family.

She also added that people tend
to leave their land in exchange to
the comfort of air-conditioned
office as a work place- a wrong
mind set according to her.
An alumnus of Bukal National
High School was the next to give
his inspirational talk. Ronnie O.
Bolaños, a Certified Public
Accountant of the Municipal
Treasury of the Municipality of
Padre Garcia reminisced his days
as a student at Bukal National
High School .

After the inspirational talks, the
awarding of certificates for the
deserving groups and individuals were
given. The culminating activity ended by
the closing remarks from the Guidance
Teacher. She called the activity a
success since all students have given
their best for the entire week. She said
that this event is just a start and there
are still more in coming months.
