Installation Guide - For EVO 16-Mar-22 updated

To avoid open the dashboard again, if any problems during installation, please make photo
/video for the wire connections (optical cable/AUX cable/ LVDS/DIP setting), we need the photo /video
to verify & confirm if the connection/setting you made is correct or not.
To safe your time and avoid mistake, we recommend you watch the Video demo

II Installation key steps

Step 1: Move optical fiber cable (if any)


For some car types, in the original power harness, it have optical fiber cable (2 pcs green color - photo as below),
in this case, please MOVE the fiber optic cable To the Carplay power cable (quadlock) in the same spot.

Remark Move it to the same spot in Carplay power cable, also notice the optic fiber plug's direction,insert it in correct direction
if you not move this cable or do it in the wrong way, it will have problems (no audio /lost part of OEM functions...)
Step 2: LVDS connection ( must same as below diagram)

Notice:
(1) The original LVDS is the video cable before you
install this Carplay box, that is the factory video cable,
it must connect to "LVDS-IN" and Radio unit.

(2) The Carplay LVDS (or aftermarket LVDS) is the


video cable we offered. It connect to the "LVDS-OUT"
and the display.

Step 3: DIP setting


How to set it ? Made DIP setting base on the size original display in your car (1) If your screen
is 6.5 inch, set “1,2” to “ON”, others set as “OFF”. (2) If the display in your car is 8.8’’ ~12 inch, set
“123” to “ON” , others set to “OFF”. (3) For NBT, It use original MIC, thus, the “7” set to “OFF”
(default setting). Wrong setting will make unit not work, or with errors!

Steps 4: Connect USB/AUX Adapter Remark: (1) For EVO car, the audio work via “USB/AUX adapter”, connect it to
the USB in armrest box, when you play the music or using the Carplay, you
have to choose “USB/AUX “ in original menu first (2) the “Audio-GND”
connect to “GND” from USB harness.

Note! Carplay is NOT Allow to use original Bluetooth at the same time,
you need to disconnect the original car Bluetooth connection when use
the Carplay (can set original car Bluetooth as “deactivated”), if not, the
Carplay will have problems (no sound, or not connect)!

III Enter the Carplay menu


Hold the "MENU" key (on iDrive) for 3-4 seconds,get into Carplay menu
Some cars by the "Back" button to switch the OEM & Carplay menu
