Export GDC Log File

z Data from GDC Log Files can be exported to smaller GDC Log Files

z Useful for archive and email

z The visible portion of the X Axis specifies the data section to be exported

z Use the zoom and scroll functions to select the data

z Select File > Export > GDC Log File and the Export Current View as GDC Log File
dialog is displayed.

Recording to memory card

z Data Module for recording data to micro-

SD Card

z xFC300 devices only

25
Coriolis Mass Flow

Recording to memory card

z Module can be plugged in to the GDC port on the xFC300 display behind the lid and can be set to
log data for several hours or days as required

z Allows data logging in an Ex environment

z The Data Logger Module captures approximately 8 MB of data per hour

z Maximum supported micro-SD card size is 2GB
z Supplied with 1GB card
z Data Logger Module can therefore store up to 10 days of data

z Allows unlimited data logging until the troubling event occurs

z Can be used for unlimited time
z Data will be continuously overwritten in a loop
z Old data gets deleted
z Replaced by new data

z All measurement and diagnostic values can be saved and analysed off line at a later date using the
software

26
Coriolis Mass Flow

Recording to memory card

z Requires set up prior to starting logging

z Insert card into card reader/PC

z Select File > Setup microSD Card
z Select the location of the micro-SD card from
the drop down list of removable drives

z Select the Power Up Action as required

z Continue Logging (default)
z Continue to log data on the micro-SD card
z Overwrite existing data
z Overwrite existing data and start logging
z Stop if file contains data
z Do not restart logging if micro-SD card
contains data

27
Coriolis Mass Flow

Recording to memory card

z Fit the micro-SD card into the Data Logger Module

Orientate card as
shown

Insert card into

holder

Fold holder down & slide to lock

28
Coriolis Mass Flow

Recording to memory card

z Fit the Data Logger Module to the xFC300 converter

z Data Logger Module will start to log data automatically when connected to the
converter electronics

z Data logging is indicated by the 4 Light Emitting Diodes (LED) flashing in sequence

z Replace display cover to retain card in place

29
Coriolis Mass Flow

Retrieving data

z Remove Data Logger Module from xFC300

converter

z Remove micro-SD card and place in card

reader
z Tip: Reading direct from micro-SD card can be
slow
z First copy file to local drive
z Locate section of recording that is useful and then
use “Export GDC file” to minimise file size
z Open xFC300 toolbox software
z Select File > Open
z Locate file and click Open
z File can then be viewed and manipulated as
previously

30
Coriolis Mass Flow

Recording to memory card

z Data Logger Module only supports micro-SD cards that have the FAT file system
z FAT is also sometimes referred to as FAT16

z FAT32 and NTFS file system formats are not supported

z If the micro-SD card is not formatted with the FAT file system
z Use Windows to format the card
