S IOC FUTURE HOST COMMISSION VISIT MEDIA PROGRAM – 10-13 APRIL 2024 V1 - 03.28.2024
DAY 1 – WEDNESDAY, 10 APRIL 2024
Time Activity Location 9:00-10:15 am Kick-off Session University of Utah SLC-UT and Future Host Commission welcome. Rice-Eccles Stadium (West Presentation of Games vision and alignment with Tower, 6th floor) long-term development plans. 1:30-2:00 pm Rice-Eccles Stadium Venue Tour(photo opp) Rice-Eccles Stadium (south Commission will visit Rice-Eccles, viewing from the end zone) south end zone. 3:55-4:15 pm UTA TRAX Fort Douglas TRAX station to Commission will ride a special Olympic-wrapped UTA Delta Center TRAX station TRAX light rail train from Fort Douglas to the Delta Center and ask transit-readiness questions. UTA Executive Director Jay Fox will be available for interviews at the Delta Center TRAX station platform following the ride, along with SLC-UT officials.
DAY 2 – THURSDAY, 11 APRIL 2024
Time Activity Location 9:00-10:00 am Community Forum: Olympic Journey in Utah Eccles Theater, 131 S. Main 2002-2034 Street, Salt Lake City Moderated by Natalie Gochnour, director of the Kem Gardner Institute, the forum will include community, government, and sport leaders. 11:00-11:30 am Utah Olympic Park Venue Tour(photo opp) Utah Olympic Park Media should meet in the main parking lot of the UOP at 10:45 am at the latest for an escort up to the women’s luge start. 12:05-12:25 pm Park City Mountain Venue Tour(photo opp) Park City Mountain Commission will have a brief venue viewing from the McGrath Mountain Center in Mountain Village, located in the First Time parking lot. The lot will be used for skier parking at that time. It is free parking, first come, first park. 2:40-3:30 pm Soldier Hollow Venue Tour(photo opp) Soldier Hollow Commission will visit venue and have an opportunity to try the biathlon shooting range. Media should park and walk into venue. DAY 3 – FRIDAY, 12 APRIL 2024 Time Activity Location 09:15-10:15 am Snowbasin Venue Tour(photo opp) Snowbasin Weather permitting, the Commission will take the John Paul chairlift from the base area to a viewing point near the top of the downhill run. Media must make arrangements in advance and come prepared to ride the chairlift. The resort is open. 1:45-2:15 pm Utah Olympic Oval Venue Tour(photo opp) Utah Olympic Oval Commission will visit long track speed skating, the 400-meter Oval ice is out. There will be figure skating on the inner ice sheets in the background.
