1. Until recent years, the traditional view of a food web was a foundational concept
that ecologists applied to ecological problems. Now ecologists are dramatically
altering the traditional idea of a food web. Critique the use of traditional food webs
for studying complex environmental problems such as rain forest deforestation,
the clearing of wetlands, or the global disappearances of amphibian species.
