CLINICAL STUDIES

La Maison de l’Artemisia has conducted clinical studies to WHO standards to demonstrate the
effectiveness of Artemisia annua and Artemisia afra on malaria, bilharzia, tuberculosis and Buruli
ulcer. To date, few studies of this kind have been conducted because modern medicine is based
primarily on the patenting of active molecules for a given pathology. A medicinal plant is extremely
complex to study, difficult to patent and attracts little investment.

OUR ACTION
Since 2012, we have brought together agronomic
expertise and humanitarian activities to promote the
production of Artemisia species in malaria-affected
countries. Medical, university and health professionals
and community leaders from around the world are
working with us to accelerate the adoption of Artemisia
herbal tea therapy as a recognised cure for malaria,
bilharzia and other tropical diseases.

La Maison de l’Artemisia centres produce, process and

distribute Artemisia.
To ensure the rapid spread of this therapy, the Maison de
l’Artemisia teams offer agronomic and medical training based
on scientific data.
Together, they form a network of over 18 African countries
that support each other and share information through new
technologies, social networks or face-to-face meetings.
