Catch–Up Fridays
WEEKLY NARRATIVE REPORT

On March 22, 2024, our Catch-up Friday activities focused on learning

about cleaning, storing, and waste management for the farm. The learners
were tasked with reading material that discussed the importance of keeping
the farm clean, storing tools and equipment properly, and managing waste
to ensure a healthy and productive farm environment.

To facilitate a better understanding, learners with low proficiency in English

were paired with students who had a better grasp of the language. This
allowed for thorough discussions and ensured that everyone had a chance
to participate and comprehend the material.

After reading the material, the learners were given higher-order thinking
Skills (HOTS) questions to encourage critical thinking about the topic.

As a teacher, I provided translations of difficult words into Tagalog to help

the learners better understand the material. This approach not only helped
enhance their English language skills but also facilitated a deeper
understanding of the concepts discussed.

Overall, the Catch-up Friday activities on March 22 were successful in

engaging the learners in a meaningful discussion about cleaning, storing,
and waste management for the farm. The collaborative learning environment
fostered a sense of teamwork and mutual understanding among the
students, leading to a more comprehensive understanding of the topic.
