- Chinese students typically spend a great amount of time on school work.
 Language and Communication Styles
- China has 55 different ethnic groups, each with its own language or dialect.
- However, 70% of people In China speak Mandarin.
- Chinese people tend to have an indirect communication style, as they tend to avoid
conflict to maintain harmony.
 Food in China
- Chinese meals usually consist of vegetables, rice, noodles, and a meat dish.
- “Tea culture” has also become immensely popular in China.
 Religion
- Any religion aside from Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Catholicism and Protestantism
are illegal.
 The arts
- Chinese art is greatly influenced by the country’s rich spiritual and mystical history.
- Many sculptures and paintings depict spiritual figures of Buddhism.
- Many instruments are integral to Chinese Culture, including the flute-like xun and
the guqin.
- China is the birth place of kung fu and Eastern-style martial arts were also
developed in China.
 Customs and celebrations
- The largest festival — also called the Spring Festival — marks the beginning of the
Lunar New Year.
