REGIONAL TRAINING OF TRAINERS ON HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS –

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING PACKAGES (HOTS-PLPS) FOR ENGLISH,
MATHEMATICS, AND SCIENCE – BATCH 1

TO: Schools Division Superintendents

1. In reference to the DepEd Memorandum from Human Resource and

Organizational Development (HROD) regarding the conduct of activities on Higher
Order Thinking Skills-Professional Learning Packages (HOTS-PLPs) for Science,
Math, and English Teachers, the Curriculum and Learning Management Division
(CLMD) in partnership with Human Resource and Development Division (HRDD) will
conduct the Regional Training of Trainers (RTOT) Batch 1 on August 14-17,
2023. The venue for the activity will be announced in a separate issuance.

2. Participants to this activity are the CLMD and HRDD Chief Education
Supervisors, CLMD English, Science, and Math Supervisors, HRDD Program
Management Team, Quality Assurance Division Education Program Supervisor,
selected Core Team Members and National Trainers, and Division official
recommended participants.

3. The Division English, Mathematics, and Science supervisors shall recommend

participants with the following qualifications:

a. Must be a Master Teacher teaching Grade 9 or 10

b. With masters or doctoral degree in Mathematics, Science, or English
c. With technical expertise in training and facilitation, including online
training, coaching, mentoring and research
d. Has served as Division, Regional or National Trainer in Mathematics,
Science, or English
e. Has attended relevant trainings and/or courses in Mathematics, Science,
or English
f. Comfortable in using varied educational technologies
g. Has good command of English and Filipino

4. The Division Mathematics, Science, and English Supervisors shall encode the
names and the details of the qualified Master Teachers through the links below on
or before August 2, 2023.

5. The following table shows the number of participants per division in every
learning area. The final list of the participants shall be announced through a
separate issuance.

6. The Regional English, Mathematics, and Science Supervisors, selected Core

Team, National Trainers, and PMT are enjoined to participate in the pre-work
activity on August 10-11, 2023. The venue for the pre-work activity will be
announced in a separate issuance.

7. Attached is the Training Matrix for the Regional Training of Trainers.

8. The cost of the board and lodging of all the participants shall be charged
against FY 2023 HRD Fund. While the travel and other incidental expenses of the
participants shall be charged to either local funds or Division HRD funds, subject
to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
