TOOLS &
EQUIPMENTS
TABLE TENNIS RACKET
A table tennis racket, also known as a
paddle or bat, is the most crucial piece
of equipment. It consists of a blade
and two rubber sheets attached to it.

Paddles must be made with at least

85% wood, but can also include some
carbon fiber in their design.
Parts of a table
tennis racket:

Blade

Blade is the wooden part of the racket. It

comes in different sizes, shapes, and
weights. The most common types of blades
are: Allround: Suitable for beginners, provides
better control and feeling.

Offensive: For advanced players who prefer

a more aggressive style of play, offers more
power and speed.

Defensive: Ideal for defensive players,

provides better spin and control.

Rubber Sheets

Rubber sheets come in various types, such

as pimples-in, pimples-out, and anti-spin. The
most common types are: Inverted: The
rubber surface is smooth, provides better
spin and control.

Pimples-in: The rubber surface has small

pimples facing inward, offers better control
and less spin.

Pimples-out: The rubber surface has small

pimples facing outward, provides more spin
and less control.
Table Tennis Ball

Table tennis ball must have a diameter of 40

millimeters and weigh 2.7 grams. It is made of
a unique plastic-like material called celluloid.
Air is trapped inside the ball which allows it to
bounce after striking a paddle or table.
Table Tennis Table

The table looks like a smaller version of a tennis

court, with lines marking the area of play and a
net dividing the two courts. The rectangular
table is nine feet long, five feet wide, and stands
30 inches off the ground.
Table Tennis Net

Is another part of the table that

stretches across the width of the
table and extends six inches over
each side with the posts at either
end. The net is made of a stretchy
nylon material and measures six
inches from the top of the net down
the table.

Paddle case

The inside is lined with a foam layer that

protects the paddle from chipping or the
rubber from peeling. It also protects the
paddles from environmental factors such
as sunlight or cold which harms the
paddle's rubber.
Table Tennis robot

Robots designed to serve

the ball across the table
for a player to return. A
large container is
attached to the robot that
the player will feed with
the table tennis. The robot
will then send the table
tennis balls onto the
player's side of the table
until empty.
