4. Proposed Solution Modules – Description

3.1 EpiphanyAAA

AAA stands for Authentication, authorization and accounting which is a framework of controlling access to mobile devices,
computer resources, enforcing policies, auditing usage and providing the necessary information to charge the customer
for services.
At the first process, Authentication provides a way of identifying a subscriber by verifying the credentials which will include
the username & password, before access is granted. The RADIUS server compares a subscriber authentication credentials
with the other subscriber credentials stored in the database. If the credentials match, the access is granted to the
subscriber otherwise denied.
Authorization process involves determining what types of services, activities or resources a subscriber is permitted. Simply
put, if the subscriber has no balance in his prepaid account, he is not authorized to make a call.
The last process is accounting which measures the total number of resources, a subscriber consumes during access. This
can actually include how much amount should be deducted from the subscriber’s account for a particular call session or
data session.
The features of RADIUS are given below:
• The proposed RADIUS Server can support various policies like Access Policy, Concurrent Login Policy, Authorization
Policy, Session Management Policy etc. within the Policy Manager module.
• It is robust and scalable by mere fact that it can manage n number of devices centrally and has the ability to
process thousands of transactions per second.
• The proposed RADIUS Server comes with its own Management Interface which is web accessible and entire AAA
server can be managed using this interface.
• RADIUS Server supports multiple data sources like LDAP, Flat File, and RDBMS etc. OlaTech AAA solution comes

5. Epiphany DHCP

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is an essential part of a dynamic network. It acts a bridge between the users
or subscribers and the network. DHCP is a protocol that assigns dynamic IP addresses to various devices on the network.
With dynamic addressing, devices on the network can have different IP addresses every time it is connected to the
network. It also simplifies the administration of a complex network. This feature helps in maintaining track of IP addresses,
rather than requiring an administrator for managing the task. Thus, the administrative cost of a dynamic network is also
reduced.
DHCP is mainly responsible for dynamic leasing IP addresses and network settings as it is deployed in a network. DHCP
systematically carries out the centralized management process of IP leasing, network addressing, providing roaming access
and network access control as well. DHCP also holds a database of its own, which manages the task of tracking the IP
address. Thus, DHCP stands as highly flexible and scalable solution which can cope with the influx of new devices while
delivering flexible device configuration based on real-time information from firewalls and authentication, authorization,
accounting, compliance and auditing systems.
Proposed DHCP latest software tools and wizards with advanced features which highly user friendly for the
customers/clients to understand and use. One can easily create IP pools and configure range of IP address, connecting
interface, domain, gateway and DNS information from GUI and configure DHCP server. EpiphanyDHCP supports static
DHCP assignment where the DHCP server assigns the same IP to the defined MAC address every time the device is
connected to the network. The DHCP server serves the reserved IP address when the device using the corresponding MAC
address requests an IP address.
Offered DHCP is designed to any business or network requirement. It can be easily configured to user defined attributes,
vendor specific attributes, customized options or other real time information external systems. Offered DHCP also
supports Option 82 feature and automatically assign IP address. DHCP Option 60 provides support for Vendor Class
Identifier (VCI). Option 60 is used to define VCI on the DHCP server and it is the same VCI which is included in the initial
DHCP discover message that a DHCP client broadcasts in search of an IP address. Option 60 is used by DHCP clients in
order to identify itself to the DHCP server.
Offered DHCP supports Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) v4 and v6 Server functionalities.
