ULTRASOUND WHOLE ABDOMEN


Clinical Information: Acute febrile illness.

Liver appears normal in size and shows diffuse increase in parenchymal echogenicity. Relatively well defined
hypoechoic lesion with no internal vascularity measuring ~ 21 x 18mm in segment VII. No evidence of
intra/extrahepatic biliary tree dilatation noted. Portal vein appears to be of normal size.

Gall bladder moderately distended. Few immobile echogenic foci (2-3) arising from anterior wall of size 2-3mm. No
evidence of abnormal wall thickening noted.

Spleen appears enlarged in size, measuring ~ 134mm. No focal parenchymal lesions identified.

Pancreas head and body appear normal. Tail obscured by bowel gas.

Both kidneys appear normal in size, shape and echopattern. Corticomedullary differentiation appears maintained. No
evidence of calculi or hydronephrosis seen on either side.

Urinary bladder is partially distended.


Pelvis: Poor window.

No evidence of ascites or pleural effusion seen.

IMPRESSION:
Grade I fatty liver with hypoechoic lesion as described –Suggested Triphasic CT abdomen for evaluation.
Gall bladder polyps.
Splenomegaly.
