informational texts.

Analyze figures of speech (simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole) in a given
text. EN5RC-If-2.3
Upon completion of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Identify the figures of speech used in the English grammar sentence / poem.
2. Construct English grammar sentences using different types of figurative language
(simile,metaphor, personification, and hyperbole)
3. Explain the importance of figures of speech used in English grammar sentence.

In this section, the teacher will explain the different types of figures of speech (simile,
metaphor, personification, and hyperbole) using examples and engage the students
in a discussion to ensure understanding.

Students will work in groups to find examples of different figures of speech in various
texts.
1. Divide the class into small groups.
2. Give each group an envelope containing task cards with different figures of
speech.
3. Provide the groups with sentence strips, poems, or excerpts from literature.
4. Instruct the groups to search for examples of the figures of speech on their task
cards within the given texts.
5. Once they find an example, they should write it down and explain why it is an
example of that particular figure of speech.
6. Each group will present their findings to the class.

G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living


Students will choose a familiar object and write a descriptive paragraph using
various figures of speech. They will then share their paragraphs with the class.
