Part 2: COMPUTATION: Temperature-Volume Relationship (Charles’s Law)
The volume - temperature relationship in gases was determined by and named after Jacques Charles. Charles’s Law states
that the volume of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature at constant pressure. It means that as the temperature
increases, the volume also increases and as the temperature decreases, the volume decreases as shown in the table in Activity 2. You
will also notice in the given table that the quotient of pressure and volume are always the same which leads us to Charles’s Law
equation.
