FIRDAUSYI NUZULAH

1. Discuss your academic and no-academic achievements, including the process and
skills involved in your previous or current degree program!*
My notable achievement took place last semester when I received the result of my academic
report where I obtained 3.91 out of 4.00. It all started at the end of the 4th semester. I want to
get my best GPA while at the same time developing my skills. I developed skills such as digital
marketing, time management, leadership, and communication. I get rid of that waste of my
time by reducing scrolling on social media. In the class I'm taking, I've always tried to
contribute to being an active student by starting discussions and forming study groups to ensure
that students fully understand knowledge. In February 2021, I became the best volunteer at
Merintis Indonesia. Here I learned so much about time management, teamwork,
communication, and providing good content on social media. I have to complete the task on
time in college or at the internship. I also need to be able to work in a team. By working with
a team, we can divide tasks and brainstorm. That will make the job complete faster and the
results are also good. I always try to give my best to develop myself for the better.

2. Please outline your plans to engage with local and international communities during
IISMA Vocational Path program using clear examples!*
My engagement plan with the local and international community during IISMAVO will be
joining organizations and extracurricular activities offered by the host University. When I want
to join the organization, I have to be open-minded and create a comfortable environment. I aim
to engage with the local and international community while increasing my personal and
academic network. Furthermore, I plan to join a university-based organization that aligns with
my interest. I plan to join the International Student Forum at the City of Glasgow College. This
society will increase my connection, learn new language, culture, and many more. I aim to
learn about the international student's perspectives in the UK. Also, I want to be involved in
their activities to analyze how I can adapt to Indonesia. Besides, I plan to join the Business and
Management Student Association at the Ming Chi University of Technology. This will help
me to increase my knowledge about business and management. Moreover, I want to learn and
discuss business since they provide events for students interested in business. Finally, I will
engage with local communities by joining Indonesia's youth-organized student communities. I
plan to join Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) at Glasgow, United Kingdom or join PPI at
Taiwan. Through PPI, I intend to promote Indonesian culture abroad through a series of cultural
exchanges and performances with other students.

3. Discuss a time when you faced a difficult academic challenge or hurdle and how you
navigated through it!*
My academic challenge happened during the fourth semester when I was chosen to lead a group
in one of my study courses. The role automatically gave me the responsibility of making sure
that I listened to every concern made by my group members and provided them with a solution.
I have two groupmate who are hard to contact. They are more concerned with their external
activity than our assignment. On the other hand, we are used to doing tasks together. As a team
leader, I should find the best way for everyone. I tried to contact everyone in the group and
facilitate the meeting. The meeting goal is to divide the tasks among each member so that

anyone can do their job according to the time we have. I do this because it is hard to match the
schedule of each member of the group. The decisions taken at the meeting were all members
agreed on the division of tasks. That makes our duty complete faster than working together at
the same time according to the deadline and then every team member knows the work he should
do. In the end, I believe that good communication and task delegation will make the task more
efficient than working together at the same time.

4. How will this program (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka and IISMA Vocational
Path program in particular) help you to achieve your immediate goals and how can
you contribute back to this program*
This opportunity will allow me to achieve my goals. As a financial management student who
will work in the financial industry, I would like to expand my international knowledge,
especially in finance. Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka and IISMA Vocational Path program
will help me achieve these goals and develop myself. Supported by the purpose of this program,
which allows students to sharpen interests, increase skills for work on the other days, and build
an international network. I am sure that this program will help me expand my knowledge of
the world, like some cases about fraud in finance and how to reduce it. I will share my
knowledge about finance on social media. For example, how to reduce fraud. Also, I would
like to help other students who will join IISMAVO in the upcoming year by sharing my insight
about this program with some writing and design from my insight and delivering the content
on social media. Therefore, I hope that vocational students can develop themselves to
international standards and make them good human resources in the future stated in the SDG
goals.
