Tumalon ka sa tuwa nang sabihin sa iyong nakapasa ka sa audition ng “Birit Bulilit”. Puspusan kang nag-ensayo upang makuha
mo ang magandang puna ng mga hurado at magtataas sila ng pulang panyo tanda ng kanilang paghanga. Dumating ang oras
ng iyong pagtatanghal sa nasabing paligsahan. Bumirit ka nang buong husay subalit natapos kang umawit na walang huradong
nagtaas ng pulang panyo. Sa halip na pula ay asul na panyo ang kanilang itinaas tanda ng iyong pagkabigo. Sabi ng unang
hurado na si Piolo Valdez, kulang ka raw sa sigla. Ang puna naman ng ikalawang hurado na si Carmi Salcedo, may mga nota na
hindi mo naaabot. Sinabi ng ikatlong hurado na si Katherine Reynes, kulang ka raw sa pagbibigay ng damdamin sa pag-awit.

1. They are nouns which cannot be counted. Generally, they cannot be pluralized.

3. Mass nouns can be counted but can be measured using quantifiers.
Quantifiers or counters are expressions of quantity. We use quantifiers to tell us how much or how little the mass nouns are.
Some quantifiers are much, many, lots of, a little of, a bit of, a glass of, a kilo of, or a pound of.

• Multiply the common prime factors of 16 and 24.

The Greatest Common Factor (GCF) is 8
So, each of their friends receives 8 face masks.

2. Using Continuous Division


Steps
1. Write the numbers horizontally
2. Find a prime number that will divide the numbers, if possible
3. Divide by that prime number and write the quotients below the dividends. Copy any number not divided below them.
3. Continue the process until no two numbers have a common prime divisor
4. Multiply all the prime divisors common to the given numbers to get the GCF.
2 B. Least Common Multiple (LCM)
Jan Gabriel made face shields. He wants to pack them in boxes of 6 and 15 pieces to be distributed to his friends in their
barangay. What is the smallest number of pieces of face shields that he can pack using the boxes?
*To solve the problem, you need to find the Least Common Multiple (LCM) of 6 and 15.
Here is how you do it.
➢ By Listing Method
Steps:
1. List some multiples of 6 and 15
Multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30
Multiples of 15: 15, 30, 45, 60, 75
2. Write the common multiples.
Common Multiple/s: 30
3. Find the smallest/least common multiple of 6 and 15
Least Common Multiple (LCM): 30
➢ By Prime Factorization
Steps:
1. Write each number as a product of its prime factors.
6=2x3
15 = 3 x 5
2. Multiply the common prime factors to get the least common multiple. (Note: Use common factors only once just like “3” in
the example)
LCM = 2 x 3 x 5 = 30

By continuous Division
Steps
1. Write the numbers horizontally
2. Find a prime number that will divide, if possible/
3. Divide by that prime number and write the quotients below the dividends. Copy any numbers not divided below the
dividend
4. Multiply all the prime divisors and the last set of quotients to get the LCM

prawns, and crabs. Animals that can live both in water and on land can either walk, hop, jump, or swim. Some animals used

Nagtataglay ito ng mga elemento ng sining tulad ng hugis at kulay. Ang mga ito ay may kani-kaniyang kasuotan at
palamuti na sumasalamin sa uri ng kanilang pamumuhay. Ang kasuotan at palamuti ay nagiging kaakit-akit sa

2 Parts of the School Paper
Whatever the type of paper it is, the parts and sections are similar to one another. Here are the major sections of a school
paper:
1. Front page
2. News page
3. Editorial page
4. Feature page
5. Community and development page
6. Science and technology page
7. Sports page

Parts of the Front Page


a. Nameplate. The nameplate is the engraved or printed name, logo or symbol of
the newspaper. More often than not, the nameplate also bears the scope of the
publication, that is, the date when the articles were taken. It also includes the
volume and number of the particular release..

b. Ears. Ears are little boxes in either or both sides of the nameplate. Ears usually
contain advertisements or announcements.

c. Banner (Head). The banner is the principal headline which is usually written in the
boldest and biggest font. It is the title of the most important news of the day. This most important news is called banner
news. The banner runs across the front page.

d. Running Head. The running head is a type of head having two or more lines.

e. Headline. Headline refers to any title of any news.


f. Deck. A deck is a subordinate headline or head which is immediately placed below its
mother head to give more information about it.

g. Lead. Lead refers to the beginning of a news story. This means that the lead could be a
word, a phrase, a sentence or even a paragraph.

h. News Story. The news story is the whole story or a part of the whole story about the
news which is composed of the lead and the text supporting and elaborating the lead.

i. Fold. It is the imaginary horizontal line that divides the paper into two. The purpose of
the fold is primarily rooted from the lay-outing rule that the fold should not overlay or
run against the banner head.

j. Byline. A byline is the name of the reporter who prepared the news.

k. Cutline. It is the text accompanying photos or other art works. It is commonly known
as caption.

l. Kicker. A kicker is a tagline above but smaller than the headline. It gives stimulating
but small details about the headline. It is also called teaser.

m. Credit Line. A credit line is a line given to pay respect to the source of the story or
illustration printed. Foreign news and dateline news often have credit lines.

n. Folio. Usually written on top of the page, this is composed of the page number, date of
Publication and name of the newspaper. Notably, this part runs through all the sections
In the school paper.

o. Masthead. This is also called flag. It shows the publication’s name, the volume and
number of release, the names of the staff and their respective positions.

Parts of the Editorial Page


a. Editorial Proper. The article that is considered to be soul of a newspaper. It is an
article that gives the conglomeration of opinions of the members of the editorial board
on the hottest issue of the day.

b. Column. It is a recurring article in the paper. Column meets each of the following
criteria:
1. It is a regular feature in a publication
2. It is personality-driven
3. It explicitly contains an opinion or point of view

c. Letter to Editor. A letter sent to a publication about issues of concern to its readers.
d. Editorial Cartoon. Also known as a political cartoon, is a caricature containing a
political or social message that usually relates to current events or personalities.
