1. Will you consider this an Art? Explain your answer.

Yes, I consider this picture of a jeepney as a form of art. Why? Because the jeepney’s
form is consists of structures and shapes like rectangles, squares, circles, and even fine and
curvy lines. It is also is filled with chromatic colors that give an appealing visual impact from
its vibrance and saturation. The jeepney, a form of art, is also engraved with art like the
painting of Jesus Christ which falls in “sacral art” or “religious art”. The USA flag, the car,
signifies symbolisms or conveys a hidden meaning depending on its significance to the
Jeepney’s owner or artist. There are also embarked words that are “doodled” or engraved on
the side of the jeepney and in the front. Apart from what we observe in the jeepney as a
visually evident classification of art, it also conveys history because the jeepney is a piece of
evidence that may be used to track what forms of art had existed during this time as a reference
to the future. It reveals the Filipinos’ way of portraying and demonstrating art during this time
which reflects on how artists use their imaginative and creative skills. From all of the factors
I've given for considering the jeepney to be an art form, I believe the most compelling one is
that it is associated with history. which plays a significant part in human existence; because it is
linked to experience, and art is a form of experience.
