Navigating with hotspots

You can browse the material by clicking the normal links in the menu tree on the left frame, but you can also
navigate by using the hotspots in the pictures. The hotspot navigation works the following way:

1. At first activate the picture by clicking it (this is Internet Explorer's security feature for active content).

2. Hotspots in the picture are the areas surrounded with a light blue stroke. When the cursor is moved
on a hotspot the stroke color changes into red. At the same time the name of the current component
appears in the text box on the left of the bottom frame.

3. Select a hotspot by clicking it. The red stroke will remain surrounding the component even if cursor is
moved away.
4. All the material concerning the selected component is now listed in the Document menu on the left side
of the bottom frame. Open the material by clicking the desired title in the Document menu.

When a hotspot is selected and you want to change the selection to another hotspot, you have to
first click "Deselect" button on the right side of the bottom frame to release the selection.

You can also select a hotspot by using the Hotspots menu on the right side of the bottom frame.

When using Hotspots menu the Deselect button is not needed.

Navigating with picture links

For example in electric circuit diagrams there may be blue arrow links which will open the page where a
cable continues.

When clicking on a link the linked page will open directly. The shape of a picture link may vary, but the way
of function and the colors are the same in all picture links.

There may also be normal text links below pictures.

3. Select the area to magnify by moving a mouse with the left button pressed down.

You can move the picture with a mouse by drag and drop while Alt key is pressed down.
