Objectives

After studying this topic, you should be able to

2) describe types of new products
3) discuss the marketing characteristics of new products

Task

Let’s begin

“New Products” is the second of the ten major topics in FST 147. There are two

subtopics which are 1) the reasons for developing new products and 2) new food products

and their characteristics. In the first subtopic, you will understand why a food company

must continue to develop new products continuously. Under the second subtopic, you will

learn the types of new products, the marketing characteristics of new products, and the

product life cycle.
