Firstborn's Burden

In the realm of siblings, I took the lead,

The first to tread where none had dared to heed.
A trailblazer, a pioneer, they'd say,
But oh, the burdens that came my way.

From my infancy, expectations loomed,

As the eldest, my role was pre-assumed.
To set an example, be wise and kind,
A pathfinder of the heart, soul, and mind.

I carried the weight of parental dreams,

Their hopes and visions, like silent screams.
To pave the road for those who would follow,
I carried their dreams, heavy to swallow.

I stumbled through trials, made my own mistakes,

A first-time traveler on uncharted lakes.
Each choice I made, I'd feel the weight,
Of being the first to navigate.
Responsibility, a lifelong friend,
From childhood years to the very end.
Guiding my siblings, through thick and thin,
But at times, my own struggles buried within.

Yet, amidst the trials and the constant strain,

A love for my siblings, like a soothing rain.
For in the struggle, we found our way,
Together, we thrived, come what may.

So here I stand, a firstborn soul,

With stories of triumphs, tales of the toll.
A lifelong journey, with no final bend,
The struggle of the firstborn, without end.
