I. Objectives
At the end of the discussion, the learners will be able to:
a. identify the different types of Three-Dimensional Shapes;
b. create Three-Dimensional Shapes such as cubes, cones, cylinder, cuboid, pyramid, and
spheres with their own; and
c. work cooperatively and appreciate the concept of Three-Dimensional Shapes.

Amen.
2. Greetings

Good morning, class!

Good morning, teacher!
Good morning, classmate!
It’s nice to see you today.
Okay class, before we sit down
kindly pick up all the piece of paper
on your place and please arrange
your chairs properly.
3. Checking of Attendance
Now, let us check the attendance.
Row leaders, do you have
absentees today?

Row 3 I’m glad to report that everyone is present

today.
Very good! It’s nice to hear that,
you are all present today!

3. Be Polite
4. Be Prepared
5. Be Participative
Is that clear, class?

B. REVIEW OF PAST LESSON

Wow, it seems that you are all ready,
now I want you to remember our
lesson yesterday. So, let’s have a
recap!

Is there anyone who wants to share

their knowledge & idea on our topic
yesterday?
Our topic yesterday is all about 2D shapes.

Alright, very good!

Yesterday we tackled about Two-
Dimensional Shapes. Do you
remember what are these?
Circle, Square, Triangle, Rectangle,
Quadrilateral, and Oblong.
* The teacher will show a picture of 2D
shapes.

Again, these are the 2-Dimensional

Shapes.

Very good! Based on our discussion

yesterday 2D shapes defined as what?
2D Shapes defined as a flat plane figure.
Very good! Another?
2D Shapes has only two dimensions length
Good job! Another idea? and width.

2D Shapes do not have thickness & can be

Okay, good job everyone! All of your measured in only two faces.
answers are correct. For that give your
classmates 5 claps.
*The students will clap 5x*
Okay, that is right! Two Dimensional
Shapes can be measured in only two
faces and defined as flat figure, as you
can see, it has only two dimensions
length & width like what you are
saying a while ago it has no thickness
& depth.
Did you understand, class? Yes, teacher.

C. MOTIVATION

So now, let’s move on to our next

topic. But before that I will show you a
short video which has something to do
with our new topic.

So, who among here likes singing?

What about dancing? *The students are raising their hands*

Wow, there are so many singers and

dancers here.

Okay class, please all stand. I have here

a video and I want all of you to
observed carefully and enjoy, okay? Yes, teacher.

Our activity is called “Name that

Shape” you must determine the
shapes by naming the given pictures.

Just follow the steps and repeat the

song lyrics after me. Is that clear? Yes, teacher.

Did you enjoy, class?

Yes, teacher.
D. LESSON PROPER

Based on the video that we have

watch while ago, what have you
observe? Anyone? It shows the different examples of three-
Dimensional Shapes.

Very Good! Is there anything else? It also shows real-life objects that looks like
3D shapes, teacher.

Very Good! Did you remember the first

3D shapes that shown in the video?
Can you give me one example then
describe what did you observed to that The first 3D shape in the video is cube.
shape. Cube looks like a dice.

*The teacher will show a picture of

cube as a dice*

Very good! Can you give me other

examples of the things that look like a
cube? Rubik’s cube, teacher.

Good job, everyone! Did you

remember the second 3D shapes that
shown in the video? The second 3D shape is cone teacher.
What did you have notice about the It’s look like a triangle teacher.
cone shape?

Very Good! Based on the video that we

have watched a while ago. Cone looks
like what? Cone looks like a party hat.
Very Good!

*The teacher will show a party hat*

Can you give me another example of

the things that look like a cone?
Christmas tree, teacher.
Correct! Let’s give your classmates 5
Claps!
*The students will clap*
Alright! Most of 3D Shapes are made
up of faces, edges, and vertices which
all have specific meanings.

I will first discuss the properties of 3D

Shapes to understand more what
properties they have before moving on
to the six fundamental 3D Shapes.

The three properties of three-

dimensional shapes are faces, edges,
and vertices. So, when you hear faces
of the shapes what do you think is
that?
I think it is the flat part, teacher.

Very good! When we say faces of 3D

Shapes it is the flat part or curved part
of the shapes.

This where faces located.

How many faces that cube have?
Let’s count everyone. Six, teacher.

Alright! Cube has 6 faces.

And when you here edges, what do

you think is that? It is line of the shape, teacher.

Correct! It is the line of the shape.

Edges is the straight line that separate
the faces. The line where two faces of
the 3D Shapes meet, is called edge.

So, this where edges located.

How many edges that cube have?

12 edges, teacher.
Let’s count everyone.

Very good! Cube has 12 edges. And

last, when you hear the word vertices,
what do you think is that?
I think it is the corner of the shape, teacher.
Correct! It is the corner of the shape.
Vertices or corners is a point where
two or more lines meet. Vertices are
the plural of the vertex.

This where vertices located.

And how many vertices that cube have
can have? Let’s count! Eight, teacher.

Very good! And now I want to

introduce to you the six three
dimensional shapes or the 3D shapes.

*The teacher will show a picture of six

3D shapes. *

*The teacher will discuss the six

3-Dimensional Shapes one by one*

E. APPLICATION

Good Job! Since everyone are doing

great in our discussion for today. I’ve
prepared activity for you.

Our activity is called “Know me 3D”.

The class will be group into 3.

Here’s the step of the activity.

Step 1: Get 8 Lolli sticks and 5 pieces of

play dough.

Step 2: Use both hands and roll the

play dough pieces into small balls.

Step 3: Connect the play dough balls

with pop sticks to make a square.

Step 4: Place four more pop sticks

pointing up and connect them by the
play dough ball to make a pyramid.

Step 5: After making the pyramid,

answer the flashcards regarding the
number of faces, edges, and vertices in
a 3D shapes.
I will give the materials needed which
are the Lolli sticks, play dough, and
flashcards. One (1) representative per
group to get their materials here in
front. I want you to follow the steps
and don’t forget to answer the
flashcards regarding the number of
faces, edges, & vertices.
Is that clear? Yes, teacher.

The flashcards will help or guide you in

making 3D shapes. Did you understand
class? Yes, teacher.

Here’s the criteria for the activity.

Appearance/Outcome 40 %
Neatness/Effort 30 %
Followed Directions 20 %
Focus 10 %
Total: 100 %

Did you understand, class?

Yes, teacher.
I will give you 15 minutes to finish this
activity. This is not a race; we have
criteria for this activity. The group with
the highest points will receive a prize.
So, finish or not finish you will pass
your work after the given time. Is that
clear? Yes, teacher.

*The activity will start* *The activity will start*

*The activity will end* *The activity will end*

Did you enjoy class? Yes, teacher.

While doing your activity a while ago,

what are the things that you
observed? We learned how to identify the faces, edges,
& vertices in 3D shapes.
Very Good class! I’m happy that you
learned how to identify the faces,
edges, & vertices in 3D shapes as well
as the six (6) Three Dimensional
Shapes.

Do you understand our lesson today? Yes, teacher.

Is there anyone who have a question

or clarification about our topic for
today? None, teacher.

F. GENERALIZATION

Alright! Again, what are the six (6)

Three Dimensional Shapes that we
discuss a while ago? Sphere, cone, pyramid, rectangular prism,
cylinder and cube.
Very good! Now say the name of the
shapes all by yourself. Everyone!

*The teacher will show a picture of *The students will answer each given
different real-life objects that picture*
represents three-dimensional shapes.
