If the product is being discounted significantly, customers can assume that the company sells
low-quality goods. Sales promotion is not a long-term solution; instead, it is a short-term
approach. However, it shouldn't be the exclusive emphasis of your marketing plan. It should
be employed to ensure instant success.
A form of consumer sales promotion in which money and proof of purchase of a product
(package tops, labels, etc) are traded in for an item of merchandise, usually sold below normal
retail price; also called a self-liquidating premium.
