REPORT SUMMARY
I. OBJECTIVES OF THE ACTIVITY:

Generally, the activity aims to attain the following:

Course objective:
1. Enhance the competencies of elected barangay officials and staff in effective barangay
administration, which will help them jumpstart their leadership journey toward community
development.
Specific objective:
1. Describe the main ideas and principles of public administration and effective governance for
barangays, which are grounded in the major provisions of the LGC;
2. Outline the components and processes for barangay development planning and capacity
development formulation;
3. Examine the process of barangay budgeting and resource mobilization;
4. Identify mechanisms at the barangay that promote partiicipation in governance;
5. Analyze the role of DILG in supporting barangay governance;
6. Commit to maintaining professional decorum, valuing public ethics, and being accountable as
barangay officials.

The activity was started with a prayer, National Anthem, and Zamboanga Sibugay Hymn through audio-
visual presentation. Then followed by a welcome message delivered by ______________________________________.

Before the lecture started, a pre-test was conducted to all the participants. This will gauge their level of
understanding on the topics to be discussed. Then, the activity started.
