The service manual contains basic instructions which must be complied with when
repair work is being carried out. Accordingly, the service engineer must not fail to read
this service manual before carrying out any repair work. It must be accessible at all
times at the place where the machine is being operated. Moreover not only the general
safety instructions listed in the section dealing with safety should be observed but also
special safety instructions included in the other main sections.
In the case of safety instructions where non-compliance could endanger the machine

General Description
CAUTION
VISIO BETA VARIO requires a 230 V AC / 120 V AC power
supply. Parts of the unit therefore carry dangerous voltages!
Always unplug at the mains before carrying out any repair
work.
Observe the applicable accident prevention and VDE
regulations as well as the operating instructions for VISIO
BETA VARIO. To avoid injury and/or damage to the unit, it
is essential to follow the correct sequence of individual
repair steps.
Before putting VISIO BETA VARIO into operation, ensure
that the mains voltage and frequency stated on the rating
plate matches the available mains voltage and frequency.
An incorrect supply voltage may damage the unit.
VISIO BETA VARIO is a light unit for polymerising composite veneering material and
light-cured dental materials, e.g. light-cured tray materials, modelling resins for external
attachments or block-out resin. Three, and as from serial number 9110001 four,
programs with varying lengths of vacuum time are selectable and allow the
polymerisation process to be adjusted to suit the particular workpiece. The final vacuum
eliminates the oxygen inhibition layer usually associated with composites.
Plug the power cable into the lower socket on the back of the VISIO BETA VARIO unit
and connect to the mains. Switch the unit on.
Up to series 91B7060:
This only starts up the fan, but not the lamps or vacuum pump. When the power switch
is pressed, an audible signal is given and the number „88“ and the three fault indicators
appear briefly on the control panel. This procedure serves to check the unit’s control
functions. During the time when the three fault indicators are lit (4 seconds), do not
press the start button, as this will trigger a regeneration run for the vacuum pump
lasting 99 minutes, during which no polymerisation is possible.
all the displays have gone out, the unit is ready for operation.
Refer to the VISIO BETA VARIO Operating Instructions for changing the two pairs of
lamps and for operating the unit.
