The Book Club is a community where readers can come together and
share their thoughts of the chosen book that the group is currently
reading. This club will have a slight API focus as at least 1 novel per

Art Club is a social organization dedicated to celebrating and


promoting visual art, creativity, and community at Shoreline
Community College. Members meet to create all different types of art

The Boxing Club will offer students with proper self-defense tactics
through boxing and could also be used as a great workout plan. To

The CECO Community Club will focus on building a sense of


community and belonging for students in the CECO (Center for
Education & Career Opportunities) Program and for all SCC students.
We want to help connect CECO students to each other, to other
groups on campus, and to the greater local community. We plan to
host regular meetings with fun activities where students can come
hang out, meet new people, and build relationships. Students in the
club will also plan fun events, field trips, and community service
projects to help students feel at home and give back to the greater

The Shoreline Chess Club is a place for chess players to meet


and play causal games. The Chess club will meet once a week in
the college library. The club has all the supplies it needs to be
successful, we will use social media and the college bulletin

The Chinese Culture Club is dedicated to promoting a deep and
meaningful understanding of Chinese culture, history, traditions,
and language. Our purpose is to create an inclusive and
engaging platform for students interested in exploring,
appreciating, and celebrating the rich content of Chinese
culture. By fostering cultural exchange and education, we aim to
bridge the gap between different communities and enhance
cultural diversity on our campus. The club will have a leadership
team consisting of a president, vice-president, secretary,
treasurer, and public relations. The leaders will be responsible
for planning and executing club activities. Membership will be
open to all students interested in Chinese culture, regardless of
their background or knowledge level. We will hold regular
meetings to discuss upcoming events, share ideas, and plan

The Clay Club endeavors to educate members about the art and
craft of ceramics through meetings, shares, preparation and

The Computer Science club at SCC is open for all students who
are majoring in Computer Science or anyone who is interested in
learning and developing their knowledge and practical skills,
including web development, software-hardware interaction, AI
etc. It would give a chance for students to explore various areas
in the field of CS, to help them find their passion if they are still
new or unsure. We also have a Discord server, which acts as a
platform for club members to discuss, help each other out and
share helpful resources such as relevant events (e.g. hackathons,
webinar, transfer resources). Our club mission is to provide a
collaborative learning environment for our members to build on
each other's ideas and grow together as a club to take a step

The club provides students with an opportunity to play futbol

The Hong Kong Students' Association (HKSA) at Shoreline


Community College is a dedicated community for students and
faculty from Hong Kong. Our mission is to foster connections
through a variety of activities and to establish a supportive
network for those seeking assistance or camaraderie. Whether

The Honors Student Council is responsible for providing events and

The club will serve as a place where actors can practice improv. In the
past Improv class has usually only been offered once a year. This will
allow past students who have taken the class to come together and
continue to practice improv throughout the year, as well as allow
other students who have never done improve before to try it out. This
extra rehearsal time will also allow us to put on more improv shows in
the year. Our goal right now is to have another show by June. During
remote operations we can meet via zoom or conference call and come
up with new games or ideas to implement. We could also play some
games that are mostly speaking games and don’t require being in

The Mahjong Club provides students at Shoreline a platform to learn


and exchange their knowledge of MahJong. MahJong is a popular
game worldwide and we welcome any student to attend our meeting
to have fun and gather around. Our objective is to spread out
MahJong at Shoreline and to give students an opportunity to meet

The Math Club meets to discuss all ideas related to mathematics and
the mathematics experience at two-year colleges. We like to solve
math problems, but we also connect to philosophy and logic, futurism,
engineering, science as well as talk about learning math and pursuing
math beyond the first two years of college. In the past the club has
competed in math competitions, taken field trips as well as hosted the

The Musical Theater Club will meet once a week to talk about shows
that the students are passionate about and to learn more about the
genre and the industry with a goal of putting on a variety of
performances. The reason for creating this club is to bring like-minded
students together which will give them the outlet to express
themselves through the art of musical theater. Each meeting will have
something different for students to experience such as singing and
sight reading, acting and scene analysis, dance workshops, musical
screenings, karaoke sessions, acting games and performance
practices. This will all lead to a performance showcase that the club
will put on with the intention of telling our stories. If we are in a
remote operation, we will meet on Zoom where we will watch
musicals and have discussions about them, go through audition
workshops, students can put on solo performances for everyone in
the club to watch, we will do script reads and also ask students what

The MSA allows for Muslims and non Muslims to gather, talk and
learn about Islam. It also provides a safe place for Muslims who live in

The Pickleball Club will provide a space for members to learn and
practice pickleball skills, rules, gameplay to have fun, make new

The Pop Dance Society wanted to gather the whole SCC who loves
and enjoys dancing and explore a wide range of dance styles, from
hip-hop, jazz funk to kpop to choreography. We encourage members
to try different styles and discover their own unique dance
preferences. We embrace diversity and welcome dancers of all skill
levels and backgrounds. No matter where you're starting from, you'll
find a supportive and welcoming community here. For the weekly
meeting, we will teach the Simple Current Trend Dance. If you are
confident in your dancing, we provide opportunities to showcase your

The Post Bacc Club will support students attending SCC post bacc
program as a way of improving their GPA prior to applying to
Medical/Dental school, PA or PT/OT programs. These students have

Pre Health Sciences Club supports the academic interests of students


who wish to pursue a career in health care-related fields (e.g.
medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, physician
assistant, nursing, etc.). Examples of activities that club members do
to provide this support include (1) meeting regularly to share
experiences, (2) inviting relevant speakers to campus (e.g.
representatives from local medical schools), (3) volunteering with
various service organizations. Activities are planned during regular

SCCANS is a student-led organization for past, current, and


future nursing students at Shoreline Community College in
Seattle, Washington. Every student enrolled in the Shoreline
Nursing Program is automatically a member of SCCANS. In
addition to providing a supportive network for incoming and
current nursing students, SCCANS provides opportunities for
students to become involved in community outreach and

This club aims to unite athletes and sports-interested fellows to


interact with one another. Our belief is to foster the athletic
culture on campus, while using technology to test out the best

stock investment portfolio to learn about stocks and value
investment without spending actual money. To be specific,we
will first learn what stock is, then we will learn fundamental

The purpose of our club is to try to build a big family for Taiwan
students who study in Shoreline Community College, to provide the
help and support to each other, to share the study experiences in SCC
and living information in the US. There are some activities planned to
be organized, such as: welcome new students from Taiwan; practice
of English and presentation in a small group; sharing SCC study
experience by senior students; promote culture awareness; involve
local community volunteer service and participate the international
festivals & events. Those activities will benefit Taiwan students to
improve their language skill and short their adjusting period for their
college life in the SCC and the US, also benefit the local community.

The purpose of UinSTEM is to give a safe community to inspire


women to pursue and/or continue in stem. Women currently only
make up 28% of the workforce in STEM, and with more support and

The UX Cafe is for students who are interested in web development,


graphic design, and/or marketing, and who want to be involved with
the UX data collection process as part of the rehauling of the SCC
library website. The framework for collecting data will be a UX Cafe
where you collect feedback from students while they browse the
current website along with alternative versions. You will learn more
about HTML, CSS, Javascript, and how to use various CMS to edit a
website's code. Work on this project can be put on your resume and

This club is for Shoreline Students to get together and have a safe
space for 1 hour a week and write about an event or situation that
impacted them to release the baggage associated with it and move
on. Write to Heal is a session where students will use writing as a tool
to process an event or situation and to grow and learn from it.
Students who are flexible and open to learning can attend the club
meetings. The meetings will be held every other Wednesday from 2
p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ray Howard Library. This is not a therapy session
and it's not a psychology course. I am not a licensed psychologist and
