1. My favorite advertising campaign is basically Persona 5 by JelloApocalypse. They were
sponsored by Atlus game developer, JelloApocalypse makes fun of the plot. While
making fun of the plot they talk about how they had to replay the game just to make the
video.
2. The main pokemon series games after years of seeing the commercials and gameplay it has
gotten tiresome. No changes in difficulty, the only changes are graphics and designs for the
pokemons.
3. An example of an Alpha Strategy is limited edition covers of game boxes. When new games
are released they usually can be preordered in limited edition full art steel covers or regular
covers. Over time, perfect limited edition covers increase in value.
4. If pepsi launched a new logo, to ambush pepsi I would introduce our new spokesperson or
ambassador for coca-cola which can be a musician or actor for they will be remembered every
time.
5. Nike expresses great attitude in connection with its brand for every athlete is seen wearing
Nike sneakers. People see the athletes that come out victorious; they associate victory when they
wear Nike.
6. Sony Playstation has built great brand equity value over time with its logo Play has no limits,
having exclusives that can only be played on its system.
7. During the time of the chip shortage there was a limited amount of playstation 5 in stock.
Going through multiple steps to pre-order the system months before the pandemic began. Once I
received my playstation 5 I would post online showing my friends that I had the latest generation
game system while they were stuck with previous generation systems.
8. A marketing segment for retirees who want to tour and travel for a decent price. The campaign
can offer coupons and discounts for booking with airbnb, It can include a campaign for a tour
through natural beauty spots.
9. Coldstone sent me a birthday discount on buying ice cream.
10. I was at an event called a taste of queens where I met with local owners at the convention and
I spoke to the convention host who was thankful of me helping around the convention, I thanked
him for introducing me to the local owners that I would buy from them.
11. I once received an advertising message about my computer being infected by a virus and I
would have to buy stronger malware software.
12.Retailers make consumer’s buy on impulse through sales. Like the Buy two get one free or
reward points given on certain products bought on a certain date.
13. BabbleTop and House of Champs are two influencers I follow to know what is new or hidden
in the market. BabbleTop is an influencer that talks about upcoming restaurant changes,
signature products that are better than the original brand and what products are discontinued.
House of champs is an influencer I follow to check the Yugi-oh card market on what cards have
changed in value.
14. An example of product placement seen in a movie is in Space Jam where Michael Jordan is
shown wearing Air Jordans.
15.A subliminal advertisement would be certain colors or designs being shown for a short time
making the person want to get that product. The McDonalds theme music is a subliminal
message, the song ends with I’m loving it.
16. The USP of Apple products is tech that works, making it easier to use than the products from
microsoft.
17. I have been greatly influenced by word of mouth in buying my chromebook. I was told by
my uncle that chromebook come in affordable prices and they can be used for everyday usage
without any worry of virus infection. Word of mouth is a good form of advertisement if the
person is knowledgeable of the product and is a user of the product. Incentives given to those
who recommend the brand would get a discount on their next purchase.
18.In marketing, authority figures can have a significant influence on your
decisions.Endorsements from celebrities, experts, or even satisfied customers can add credibility
to the product. Which can lead to an increase in sales. For the release of Legend of Zelda: Tears
of the Kingdom Nintendo had the game designer Eiji Aonuma show the gameplay to show what
has changed from previous game titles.
19.The release of the Nintendo Switch with the slogan play anytime, anywhere with Nintendo
Switch. Throughout the commercial it shows the user playing the game system on handheld
mode, tabletop and tv mode.
20. The most effective form of advertising is through authoritative figures, as a gamer I want to
know from the creators of the game not the people who didn’t work in making the game. This
form of advertising would work with people who think like me for it lets us know why certain
thing look incomplete or if there was any rush involved when making the game.
