Content
● Solving one-step equations with multiplication and division.

Implementation
Introduction
● Instruct students to grab the papers from the front of the classroom.
● Tell students to complete their daily check-in on their math agenda.
● Check homework from yesterday.

Development
● Tell students we will now be learning how to solve equations that have multiplication and
division since yesterday we learned how to solve them with addition and subtraction.
● Instruct students to take out their notes sheet.
● Demonstrate and model how to solve the problem.
● Have students answer the problems by participating and explaining.
● Instruct students to watch the Youtube video on solving equations (from 3:00-7:11).
● Collaborative students will work on real-world equation problems worksheet.
● Circulate and scaffold, provide help when needed.
● When finished, instruct students to choose a partner to play the Connect 4 game linked on
their daily agenda.
● Circulate and scaffold, redirect students.

Closure
● Complete one more problem together as a class to see student understanding of the
lesson.
● Ask students how they feel about this lesson.
● Remind students of their One-Step practice homework.

Differentiation
● Group, collaborative, and independent work.
● Differentiated level of questioning to meet students’ needs.
● Group work for peer-to-peer discussion, questioning, and explanation.
