INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction about the topic
News apps provide a convenient and customizable way for users to access news content that is tailored to their
interests and preferences. They offer a wider range of sources and real time updates, making them an essential
tool for staying informed about the world around us.

In this project we created a mobile News feed application. With the use of API called news API, we will be
bringing news from all around the world into the app. The news will be fetched and displayed based on the
country selected & the news is categorized into different categories. A user can select any category which they
are looking for. When the user is done selecting the category, then the page will automatically refresh and the
news will be displayed on the news feed application.

1.2 problem statement

Design and develop a news feed application for Android that provides users with a personalized and engaging
experience for consuming news content. The application should address the following challenges:

Content Aggregation: The application should be able to aggregate news articles from various reliable sources,
such as news websites, blogs, and RSS feeds.

Personalization: The application should have a user-friendly interface that allows users to personalize their news
feed based on their interests and preferences.

Real-time Updates: The application should provide real-time updates for breaking news or important events.
Users should be notified promptly and be able to access the latest news articles as soon as they are published.

1.3 Objectives

• Provide timely and relevant news content: The primary objective of a news app is to provide users with timely
and relevant news content from various sources.

• all in one convenient location. The app should offer a personalized news feed based on user interests, browsing
history, and location.

• Increase user engagement: The app should aim to increase user engagement and retention by offering a seamless
and user-friendly experience, with intuitive navigation, clear and concise article formatting, and options for
personalization and customization.

• Generate revenue: A news app can generate revenue through various methods, such as advertising, sponsored
content

•Provide value to advertisers: A news app can provide value to advertisers by offering targeted advertising
opportunities based on user demographics, interests, and behavior.
• Gather data and insights: A news app can gather data and insights on user behavior, preferences, and
engagement, which can inform content recommendations, personalization, and other app features .
