ELICIT

Do you still remember our lesson last meeting?

What had we discussed?

We have discussed about biodiversity and the
levels of biodiversity.

Yes. Exactly! We discussed about the concept of

biodiversity and distinguished the levels of
biodiversity

As a review, what is biodiversity? Biodiversity is coined from the words, biological

diversity, specifically the variety of organisms
living on Earth.

What are the levels of biodiversity?

The levels of biodiversity are species diversity,
genetic diversity and ecosystem diversity.

Who can describe the levels of biodiversity? Species diversity are the different kinds of
organism while the genetic diversity is the
genetic information that organism contain and
the last one is the ecosystem diversity which
describes the different kinds of places where
organisms live and the interconnections that bind
these organisms together.

Very Good! And the organisms also that living on

the earth are classified and name and have also
similarities and differences.
ENGAGEMENT

Pre-Activity

Before we will start to our topic for today, let’s

have first an activity and I call it “Classifying &
Naming Living and Non-living Things”. I want you
to look at the power point presentation and
follow my instruction. In your notebook, draw a 2
boxes and labelled it Living and Non-living things.
You can follow the format in the power point
presentation. Once you see the picture of living
and non-living things, I want you to name it and
classify it as living or non-living things.
Yes mam!

(students follow the instructions)

Now, how does it feel when you do the activity?

(students answer will vary)
Then, what do you think is our lesson for this
afternoon?

It is about classifying and naming organisms.

Very good!!!

And now, let us read our lesson objectives for

this afternoon.

into 5.

Ok. Everybody settle down. Now that you are

with your group, you choose a leader, secretary
and two representatives to report your work.

I will be giving you the materials to do the task…

Read and understand the given tasks. Then there
will be a reporting and sharing of insights after
doing it. Take note, during the activity, you will
start with the name used for an organism in your
own locality and no need yet to come to a
consensus of how these organisms are to be
called. Before presenting the said activity you
have to do a cheer for your group. I will be giving
you 5 minutes to accomplish your task and so
with your cheer per group.

Did you get it?
