Number of housing units in the United States from 1975 to 2019
•$0.50-$0.60 per linear foot for CPVC
•The average size of a new home in the U.S. is
2,687 square feet in 2015.
•The number of housing units in the United
States in 2015 is 134.7 million
• If all the houses in the United States need
CPVC, then the price is about 181~217 billion
Final Product Conditions

● Chlorine wt% needs to be between 67-68%

● Higher percentage difficulties and how it affects processing

● Temperature of resin that emerges from dryer must be at 120 degrees

Celsius
Process Diagram
Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (Process Explained)

● Unchlorinated PVC is not good at high temperatures

● Chlorinated well is stronger and can maintain the heat

● Solid PVC resin forms a slurry which is fed through slurry

● Main purpose is to remove the extra liquid to get the CPVC to 100 wt%
